After quite a few successful press tours over the last few months, I don’t think it will come as a surprise to any when I reiterate my love for traveling. Even after months of constant go-go-going I’m still not tired of my travels and was recently even given the chance to journey to Atlanta for another press tour, during which I was able to see a lot of fantastic destinations while I enjoyed my stay. During my trip I was able to visit several Atlanta destinations and I can’t wait to share my experiences with my readers.
My first stop in Atlanta was the Stone Mountain Park, located in the rugged mountains of Stone Mountain. First founded in 1838 by Aaron Cloud, the tourist attraction started out as a simple wooden tower that measured 165 feet tall with a 40 foot square base. Cloud charged .50 per person in the early days of the attraction and the tourists climbed the wooden tower for fun; unfortunately, it was only a few short years later that the tower came down in a storm and was never rebuilt. Today, Stone Mountain Park is Georgia’s most popular attraction and features a wide variety of family activities. It’s situated on 3,200 acres of natural beauty, features many interactive Atlanta Area family attractions and is home to many historical sights.

Fantastic, in depth write up on this destination Maria. I’ve been wanting to take the kids here now that they are older and I know they will enjoy it. Thanks for all the tips and links!
