As you can imagine, parasailing is a top water activity & cruise excursion in Mexico. Last April I went on a cruise with several blogger pals which included a port stop in Cozumel Mexico. Several of us decided to book our excursion at Mr. Sanchos.
Mr. Sanchos Beach Club in Cozumel offered several cruise excursion. One option was to book a Mr. Sancho’s All Inclusive Day Pass for $5.00! Totally worth it but food and beverages were not included. Naturally you paid a La Carte for those items. We chose a $55 all-inclusive package which included all of our beverages (including alcoholic mixed drinks and water) and a food buffet.
After several hours of pool lunging, drinking and relaxing we decided to go for a boat ride and para-sail. Not everyone para-sailed but we were allowed to go on the boat ride for a small (I think it was $10) fee. I can’t believe I’m posting these pictures! My beach coverup was not flattering, anywho. I’m actually prone to motion sickness so being on a small boat as this one made me a little nervous.
Maybe I’m biased (I am 1/2 Mexican) but I love Mexico! My kids have visited Mexico 3 times and several other countries and both have a soft spot for Mexico. The water was perfect! It was a warm April day and the weather was absolutely everything it should be during a beach vacation.
One thing to consider when parasailing or experiencing any excursion or water activity is safety! We did not book through a the cruise ship excursion desk which may have saved us some money but it wasn’t safe. If this is your first trip to Mexico or out of the country you may want to consider booking through a reputable business. We received a recommendation for our private beach resort attendant.
Also buddy up! My friend and cabin roommate Jessica really wanted to experience parasailing for the first time. I wouldn’t want anyone to go on a boat by themselves ALONE. Remember the basic cruise safety tip, “safety in numbers”.
Another tip would be to forgo the all you can drink beverages/food and splurge on the experience. Many beach resorts like Mr. Sancho’s or Paradise Beach have a $3-$5 admission for the use of the public part of their beach club. If you are looking for an experience, opt to spend your travel dollar on ATV, parasailing, horseback riding on the beach and more and eat/drink light while in Mexico. Stop laughing, it can be done!
Soak in the experience – As a traveler and blogger I want to document everything but don’t let the experience slip away. Sometimes it’s nice to sit back, absorb a new Mexican travel adventure and catch a few pictures along the way but never take away from your once in a lifetime opportunity.
On our recent visit to Orange Beach my daughter & I planned a parasail adventure. The wind gusts were pretty strong and we were urged by the aqua adventure operator to reschedule due to heavy winds. She was devastated but there’s always next time! When will be your “next time”?

I have always thought this looked like so much fun to do. I am too chicken, I am scared of sharks, I know I am missing out on all the fun!

I’d jump at the chance to try parasailing it is on my bucket list of things to do before I die. It’s also a very expensive trip between Michigan and there to even consider it a option but one can dream.

I have been scuba diving, but it’s been years. That’s about the extent of my aqua adventures. I’d def. parasail though.
