What kind of sports vacation would you like to go on? No matter what kind of sport you are into, there are some common elements that seem to follow sports fans. You can plan your entire vacation around your favorite sports or you can just include bits and pieces of various ones along the way. Regardless, all sports vacations should be planned for maximum fun. Here are some tips to help you find the perfect sports vacation:
Events You Enjoy
Do you prefer events that are active sporting events? Maybe you prefer to visit commemorative places or play sports yourself. Not all sports fans like to sit and watch. For some, the events just last too long to sit through. Others enjoy the adrenaline rush that comes with cheering on their favorite team. Determining how you personally enjoy sports could be a key element in planning your vacation.
Plan Around an Event
If you like to watch sports in action, do some research to learn where the next game might be. Is it near a spot you want to vacation at? If you already know where you are headed, do some research into what sporting events or sports adventures are available in that area. You can do this through the team websites or through places that sell tickets. Check Ticketmaster or even eBay to learn about events near your vacation spot.
Visit Sports History
There are plenty of places you can go to enjoy sports without actually sitting through an event. For example, visit the Football Hall of Fame in South Bend, Indiana right before you take a tour of Notre Dame. You can also pay a visit to the Sports Museum in Boston, MA. There are all sorts of sport specific museums spread across the country. You can do a search for your sport of interest to learn where there might be a sports museum that you want to visit.
Sports Resort
Whether you are bringing the family with you or not, consider Walt Disney’s sports resort. Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort offers everything that sports fans enjoy. From the hotel rooms to the End Zone food court and surf themed swimming pool, you will be immersed in sports from the time you arrive until you leave.
Specific Sports Vacations
Club Med is just one of the places that offers sports vacation packages. If you prefer to be in the thick of it, skip the professional sports and enjoy your own activities. Consider hiking trips, caving adventures, ski trips, or water rafting trips as one of the many ways to be active on vacation.
Your sports vacation depends completely on what it is you enjoy doing most. You can center your vacation around a specific event or set of events. You can watch sports or you can participate. You can even just spend time exploring the history of sports to learn about how it all began. Many like to combine all of these things together. For example you might watch a game before returning to your sports theme hotel room. Then you might spend the next day visiting a sports museum.
Whether you are on your own or with family and friends, you can make sports a part of every segment of your vacation.

No, I have never wanted a sports vacation-I am not into sports at all! However this is great advice for those who love sports and want to somehow incorporate it into a vacation.

The closest thing to a sports vacation we’ve taken is our annual camping trip to a Nascar race. We’ve stayed at All-Star Sports in Disney because it had a good rate, didn’t have to be doing anything sporting to appreciate that!

It’s been ages since we went to any kind of sports vacation. We’ve never tried the All Star Sports resort but I’d like to.
