Sea World Orlando Florida #VisitOrlando
Travel disclosure

One thing I love about traveling with your family is that those memories are notched in their minds until they get older. My children have fond memories of many travel adventures and love to reminisce about those journeys we take as a family (hopefully through adulthood). When you visit Orlando you have to take some time to Sea World with the family. There is something so soothing about marine sea life that can make any theme park tranquil and a exciting at the same time.

We were so excited that Sea World Orlando, Florida is just a few minutes from the Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes. Many hotels & resorts (like The Ritz-Carlton Grande Lakes) offers free shuttles to and from Sea World free of charge. Parking can add up for any family so this would be a great option to take advantage of. We decided to bring our own vehicle since we were visiting Sea World Aquatica (more on that later) as well. Although we visited during a busy holiday week, we found that picking up our tickets at guest services and going through the ticket line was quick & pain free.

The shows at Sea World, like Blue Horizons®, will leave your family awe. I remember visiting Sea World as a child and being enthralled by the dolphins & whales’ synchronized performance. As you can see by the picture posted above, your heart will skip a beat (and keep that camera shuttering while watching the dolphins perform. Tip: If you are wanting to beat the heat with your family, make sure to time the shows throughout the day as an opportunity to take a break & give your feet a rest while enjoying the park.

My family did not have front of the line access with Quick Queue Unlimited but I highly recommend it especially if you have slightly older children that enjoy riding thrilling roller coasters. Rides like Manta®, Kraken®, Journey to Atlantis®, Wild Arctic® Ride,Shamu’s Happy Harbor® and Sky Tower will have your family bearing some pretty long wait lines without Quick Queue Unlimited. Also, take advantage of child swap lines. We didn’t but if you have smaller children this is a great option for your family.

Between the exhibits & new Antarctica: Empire of the PenguinTM my family had a blast and enjoyable experience. Tip: Buy a refillable soft drink cup for your family. Sea World has those “Free Style” machines which allows you to chose from a huge selection of teas, flavored waters, club soda and other carbonated beverages. There are also water fountains throughout the park so make sure to take advantage and stay hydrated. Great way to beat the heat this summer.

Are you more of the theme park type of person (thrill rides) or more into the marine-life based zoological park aspect?

I love both types of parks, although the thrill rides don’t seem to be agreeing with me as I get older. Anything with penguins wins!

Sea World is so much fun and so huge we couldn’t even finish seeing everything we wanted to. We need to go back.
