Give Yourself Some “Me Time”

Decades ago, women were expected to stay at home to attend to her family. Many were not given the opportunity to earn a living or even study. The times have indeed changed and we’re glad that we’re busy as we are now. Most women, especially moms, have their own full-time career these days. Taking care of the family and home while climbing the corporate ladder can be stressful, which is why knowing how to relieve stress is imperative for today’s women. If you’re a working mom like me, I’m sure you find giving yourself some “me time” can be a bit too much at times. Especially when you know that bills are due to arrive soon and the children are about to have their exams in school. Well, giving yourself a break doesn’t require an entire day. Below are some activities that can help alleviate stress.

Get a Mani – Pedi

Making yourself feel loved doesn’t equate to spending too much. In fact, you can just go to the grocery and pick out a nail polish in your favorite color. Give yourself a foot scrub and a well deserved manicure and pedicure. It’s surprising how this can instantly lift your spirits. Not sure how to give yourself a pedi?

Change Your Hairstyle

Getting a new look often goes hand in hand with changing your perspective in life. If you’ve been dying to dye your hair red but are too afraid to try, giving it a go would definitely make you feel stronger. Plus, you’ll get to overcome your fear of change, no matter how big or small your goal is.

Organize a Get Together with Friends

What’s better than spending some time with your closest friends? You can ask them out to dinner at a posh Italian restaurant or have them come over for some much needed girlfriend bonding. Keep in mind that your goal is to unwind and have fun, so you might want ask for everyone to bring a dish so you won’t have to cook everything. If you’ll be inviting friends from high school, have your old photo album ready and get ready to have one of the best nights of your life.

I love to do something physical to blow off steam like horseback riding or swimming (preferably in the ocean), but it’s been awhile since I’ve had a Spa Day!
