Growing up on the Louisiana bayou, I always wanted to visit far off places. Even though I have embraced my inner “country girl” and love to call the bayou home, I also believe travel provides so many opportunities to learn and grow from other people and cultures. There are many people I know who have yet to explore and leave Louisiana! I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunities to visit many places like Mexico and Coast to Coast U.S Travel, but there’s still more to add to my travel wish list.
With that thought in mind I’m creating a series based on the bucket list concept. A bucket list is essentially a list of experiences or achievements one wants to have in their lifetime.
The Bayou Travel Bucket List is just that; the places I hope to visit at some point and what makes them so special. My hope is this might encourage others to go beyond their comfort zone, learn a little about these destinations, and of course, plan a visit!
You can always come back to this post to see what new destinations have been added.
So what’s on my list right now?
Italy
France
Greece
Portugal
India
Spain
There is so much information I could share about each place but to keep it readable and give you just a taste I’ll be exploring each by asking 5 questions.
Providing a general background and history of each place.
What are 3 things you probably didn’t know about this country?
What are some must-visit sites?
Where can you see some hidden highlights of this country?
Why this country should be on YOUR bucket list
I hope you’ll join me as I travel the globe on my bayou bucket list! Stay tuned next week as we unveil part one of our Bayou Travel bucket List.
Where do you hope to visit one day? Do you have a suggestion for a “must –visit” destination to add to my list?
I really really hope to visit Paris one day! France is already on your list. We just returned home from Vancouver, BC, Canada and it is beautiful. I highly recommend visiting there. Good luck getting to all the places on your bayou travel bucket list!
What a great bucket list! One place on my travel bucket list is the beaches of Bora Bora!
I can only cross Spain off that list, but i’m happy I was able to afford at least that in my life span. I went to Barcelona and Madrid. It was so short though that it was really just a tease. I want to go back and this time travel all over. Especially to Italy and France!
There are SO many places I want to travel that I honestly couldnt even narrow it down to just a few! I want to see as many natural wonders as I can so wherever I can go to see amazing nature spots is high on my list!
I would love to go to Croatia and / or Cyprus one day !!
My travel bucket list looks a lot like yours right now. My top 3 are Spain, Italy, and France.
International travel intrigues me (and scares me a bit). I’d love to visit Jerusalem, Sydney, and Galapagos Islands!
About the only place I would like to go is Puerto Rico.
Italy is on my list for sure! I’ve been to lots of other places in Europe, but always seemed to miss Italy.
