You know I love the Smoky Mountains! I think I have blogged about the East Tennessee area at least a dozen times. In 2012 I was fortunate enough to travel to Pigeon Forge two separate times and visit one of Pigeon Forge’s newer attractions: Titanic Museum Attraction. One thing I love about the area is that there are so many reasons to return to the Smoky Mountain region for years to come. I personally I visited the area 10 times & I have yet to grow tired of the area. Titanic Museum & Attraction is a perfect example of why travelers always return: Reinvention! Spring break is almost here so for all the holiday travelers Titanic Museum & Attraction has geared up for several months ful of new events and a new gallery for 2013.
New for 2013 is the Children of the Titanic, a new year long gallery opened to the public. Visitors can discover the 133 Children’s Stories of Titanic. It is the First and Only World Tribute to Titanic’s Littlest Heroes. Although Titanic sailed with 2,208 guests, 133 of them were children. Now you can learn more about what they felt, heard and saw during the first moments they arrived on board to those crucial moments before and during the sinking of the Titanic. As a mother, prepare yourself to weep for those that did not survive, but the inspirational stories of those that did will move you.

The RMS Titanic sailed with 2,208 people on board – 133 of them were children. These were Titanic’s littlest heroes. I wish I could squeeze in a few days in the beautiful Smoky Mountain area this March or April but I have several trips planned in the next few months. I will be visiting the Smoky Mountain area again this Thanksgiving 2013. I can’t wait until Trip #11!! I’m starting to plan my trip out now. Have any ideas for me? i’m always looking for new suggestions and locations to stay at.
Are you traveling this Spring Break? If so where to?

That’s so cool!! I am in Grand Rapids, Michigan and we have a Titanic exhibit at our local museum (Grand Rapids Public Museum) that I am really interested in seeing, but a lot of people have said it is not very kid-friendly. I wish this were closer, it looks like a great place to take my kids!
Jen I can see exactly what you mean. I would say this particular museum in Pigeon Forge & Branson is PERFECT for ages 8 & up. Under 8 there are aspects they will enjoy, but the older kids (8 & up) get more out of it since they can understand the historical significance. They have some features throughout the museum that kids can have hands on learning and an entire kids zone at the end. I was so nervous my 7 yr old would break something but really everything was well protected so no need to worry.
that is cool. We have a smaller exihbit coming to Albuquerque nm
This is so cool! I would love to visit here. Thanks for sharing this awesome post!
That sounds like so much fun!!
I think they were building this last time I was visiting! I really hope that I can visit it soon!

This looks like a blast-heard their is a replica ship being built by an Australian. Rides being reserved at up to 1 million dollars so far!
This looks so great. My son has a few books about the history of the Titanic and I know this is something we all would love to visit.
Wow, I think it’s cool that they have a “Children of the Titantic” exhibit. What a great way to get kids invested in the story and learn how children involved in the tragedy felt and reacted.
Wow! This looks great! If we’re ever in the neck of the woods, we’ll have to check it out! Thanks for sharing!
Oh this looks so fun! I’ll bet it was fascinating!
We’ve been talking forever about taking a road trip to the Smoky Mountains…this looks like something to definitely add to our list when you finally get our act together and hit the road!
that is so neat that they have a children’s exhibit. wished we lived closer–the Smoky Mountains seem like a great vacation–I will have to check it out
I went to a Titanic exhibit once, and it was fascinating. I’d love to see the Children of the Titanic!
Thanks for this in-depth look at The Titanic museum. We haven’t visited here yet, but plan too this summer.
