Beach travel is a short 3 hour drive from the New Orleans area to Gulf Shoes, Alabama. Many families in the Gulf Coast area flock to Alabama’s sandy white beaches every spring and summer. I recently had the privilege to experience The Beach Club, a Spectrum Resort located on the beautiful Fort Morgan Peninsula. We arrived Thursday evening after work and enjoyed 3 additional days as we embraced the sun and welcomed Spring in April.
The Beach Club is a destination resort featuring luxury vacation rental homes and condos. Resort amenities include several restaurants, indoor and outdoor pools, racquet club, spa services and various children’s activities which allows families to enjoy their beach vacation. I love resort travel! The fact that you can park your vehicle and never leave the property (unless you want to) has many advantages to our family. With various dining options, retail stores and many family activities available, you are just a short tram ride away from any amenity available to all guests.
Our stay included a three bedroom, 3 1/2 bath condo. Luxury vacation rental cottages are also available at The Beach Club. Not only did our family have plenty of living space but storage space was not an issue as well. Full kitchen, living room and a wrap around balcony gave us added seating and living space. Decor was beautifully decorated and had modern entertainment like surround sound, cable, WiFi and much more.
Children’s activities are a must for any traveling family. Outdoor entertainment like yard games, tether ball, paved bike paths and a wildlife sanctuary allows most families alternative options to the pools and beach. We also received a printed calendar that we used to plan children’s events during our stay at The Beach Club.
Spa services provided additional rest and rejuvenation during our stay. I enjoyed a spa sampler which included a facial, back message and scalp treatment. I left feeling relaxed and refreshed. Staff was very accommodating and professional. My morning spa services included mimosas and light snacks which started my morning in the right direction. Salon services are also available.
With so many amenities you have to schedule free time at the beach. Enjoy beach activities on their private beach like jet skis, parasailing, volleyball, sand castles, beach chairs are also available. My husband and I went hunting for seashells with our children in the afternoons and crab hunting in the evenings. It’s a great way to reconnect as a family.
We spent most of our late mornings at the Clubhouse. By lunch time my family and I worked up quite an appetite. We had lunch several times at the Gulfside Grill and Bar. From chicken wraps, burgers to salads my family had a variety to choose from. The cost was fairly inexpensive considering we enjoyed poolside service plus the entire family found something they each enjoyed.
For dinner COAST Restaurant is a MUST! Fine dining with an extensive menu that included fresh Gulf Seafood, pasta and salads and more. Don’t forget to save room for dessert! Tip: Fried Green Tomato Crab Stack is a MUST.
With all the amenities The Beach Club provides, your hardest choice will be when to book and for how many days.
