Are you guilty of serving the same finger foods at your next party? I know I am. I love to cook especially for other people, but time is always an issue for me. I normally make my way to the market with the intentions of creating a variety of foods that can satisfy every palette, but I come home with the same party foods I always serve.

This past weekend I was invited to attend a Macy’s Culinary Council event in my area featuring Chef Marc Forgione. Most of us love to cook but feel like cooking can be a burden when we are short for time. Chef Marc Forgione showed guests how they can make Sausage & Pepper using a “10 Minute Tomato Sauce”. That is my kind of recipe!! I can see myself cooking this during the week when I am limited in time after my workday is complete.

One of my favorite recipes Chef Forgione made was Chili Lobster Rolls!! Living in SouthEast Louisiana we are not local to lobster but I can definitely see myself substituting crab meat or crawfish for my own family. I’m going to add this recipe to the bottom of this post so you can try it as well. What I like about the recipe is that it can be made in the morning prior to guest arriving and served in just a few minutes.

One thing that I have learned since attending a few of the Macy’s Culinary Council events is that you don’t have to be over-consumed with time to make a great dish. The best dishes require little time but you will need quality ingredients. You can also use inexpensive ingredients with your quality ingredients to save time & money.

Attending the Macy’s Culinary Council Event was so entertaining & educational. If you are interested in attending one of the Culinary Council Cooking Demos make sure to visit the Macy’s Culinary Council Event Page to see when a Chef will be coming to your area.
You can also purchase the Culinary Council Cookbook which features recipes from all of the Culinary Council Chefs in ONE cookbook. Over 80 recipes are included from all 13 all-star Chefs for $19.99.
