Going “Hollywood” at Universal Studios #VisitOrlando

Universal Studios Orlando #VisitOrlando

A few days before Christmas I was watching Big Bang Theory late one evening with my hubby & feeding my Twitter addiction. I saw a giveaway for Universal Studios Orlando Florida Tickets that was going to in 2 hours. I remember telling my husband: “I’ll be right back, going to enter a quick giveaway.” Little did I know I would be the winner of 4-Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure Single Day Tickets PLUS 4-Express Pass Tickets. If your doing the math with my family your looking at over $900 worth of tickets!! What a HUGE Blessing, especially since we were alrady planning a trip to Orlando this summer!!

Universal Studios Islands of Adventure #VisitOrlando

Orlando 4th of July week was a cross between overcast and scattered showers here and there but we planned our day at Universal Studios Orlando on the day with the least chance of rain. I couldn’t have planned a more perfect day. My husband & children have never been to Universal so they were in for a special treat. Express Pass was a HUGE lifesaver!! I know we won our tickets but if you are able to, you will have a more pleasurable experience going straight to the front of the lines especially if you are going during a high peak travel season. We waited on average no more than 5-10 minutes (if that) with the exception of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™ which was a 90 minute wait time. They padded the wait time because it took less than 90 minutes but it was well worth the wait!!

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Universal Orlando

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ was our favorite aspect of Islands of Adventure. The shops, rides and dining at Three Broomsticks™ was so much fun! Aside from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ in Islands of Adventures, my kids loved the Jurassic Park River Adventure®. If you saw my most recent Wordless Wednesday post, you saw my son had a rip roaring time.
Also, The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man® was a BLAST!! We are HUGE Marvel Comics fans, but The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man® had the most amazing 3D graphics that any movie fan would love.
Universals Studios Transformers 3D

Aside from Express Pass, make sure to get a refillable cup. I did not plan this ahead of time but they also have a dining plan for both parks. Like Disney, Meal Deal ticket at Universal Studios® Resort is a great when dining. You can enjoy as much food as you like, from lunch through dinner, at participating Meal Deal locations in both theme parks. We ate at Captain America TM & Mel’s Diner TM for around $40 averaged out at each location with no meal plan. I thought that was a fair price for a family of 4 with 2 school aged children.

We had a great time & am so glad we went after Transformers The Ride in 3D was recently opened. Similar to Spider-man at Islands of Adventure, the 3D graphics are amazing!! In the end, we stayed 12 hours and possibly could have stayed another day. If you are able to, try and do 2 days at both parks so your family does not feel so rushed. We managed, but we were determined to ride every ride and see as many shows as possible. Thank you to Latina Mom Bloggers for the priceless family adventure!
