Chicot State Park sits on 6,400 acres of beautiful rolling hills and cool, clear waters in South Central Louisiana. Lake Chicot has yielded record freshwater catches of largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill and redear sunfish so it’s a popular destination for fishermen. Around the lake is an extensive hiking trail and primitive campsites. You can also ride your bike along the trail. The South Landing offers cabins, a group camp, picnic areas, a playground, a water playground, a boat launch, a fishing pier and a dock with rental boats. When you’re done exploring the South Landing walk along a scenic road to see what the North Landing has in store.
The North Landing offers campsites, a boating, a dock, a 400 ft. fishing pier and a group-camping area. There are also lodges in this area. The East Landing is accessible from LA 106 but it is less developed than the other two landings. It has a boat launch, dock and a barbeque pavilion, and is the perfect destination for day visitors.
