A Walk in the Park - State by State Parks

Today we include Indiana in our A Walk In the Park, State Park Spotlight. For those of you not familiar with our 50 week series, Blogging Babies and the Bayou will take readers into a new state every week and feature local State Parks. My mission is to open the eyes of many readers and give a small glimpse of what your own state may offer. If you haven’t included Indiana into your U.S travel bucket list, then get ready to grab a pen and paper to make it official! Enjoy our Walk in the Park. Now, let’s journey to some of the state parks of Indiana.

Indiana Dunes State Park - State by State, Indiana State Parks {Spotlight}

Indiana Dunes State Park

Indiana Dunes consists of 2,182 acres of primitive, beautiful, historic and unique landscape. Some of the things Indiana Dunes offers it’s visitors is a Nature Center and Interpretive Naturalist Services, access to Calumet Trail with 9 miles of hiking, cross-country Skiing, Smelt fishing, and birding. A camping trip here consists of fun filled days outside swimming at the beach or skiing the trails, weather permitting of course.

You can enjoy hiking followed by a relaxing picnic lunch under the sun. The hiking trails vary in intensity from easy to moderate and rugged but hikers are rewarded with some of the most breathtaking views of nature they will ever see. There are also really cool events at Indiana Dunes like concerts and fun stuff like sand sculpture contests. This is the perfect place for a family vacation.
