Travel Tips: Travel Light With 5 Essential Wardrobe Items #BayouTravel

Some people ask me how I can pack at a moments notice. The truth is while there are times I over pack depending on the weather or destination, I try and focus on key pieces that I can use without adding bulk to my bag.

When I travel I consider comfort and versatility!

This fall I am packing 5 essential items and 3-4 additional shirts that can maximize my wardrobe. Not only will this save me luggage space but eliminate the need to shop when my key pieces are always waiting in my closet.

How to pack for winter fall travel

How Can You Achieve the Same Look?

I have included several links to the pieces added in this post. Although you can find these looks at Kohl’s, you may already have similar looks in your own closet.

1.Rock & Republic Jeggings
2.Elle Pintuck Fit & Flare Dress
3.Sonoma Life Open Front Cardigan
4. So Flats, Black
5.Manhattan Accessories Elephant Scarf
6. Apt 9 East Bound Birds Scarf
7. Sonoma Life Slubbed Tee
8.Chaps Faux Leather Trim Tee
9. Sonoma Life Slubbed Shirt

What are your favorite essential wardrobe items you would include?

I so could use help with learning to pack lightly! I like that many of your suggestions were affordable pieces.

I would definitely put in my slightly flared black skirt with three or four tees. I always wear my sandals so unless I was going somewhere it would be freezing (throw in a pair of boots). Definitely one pair of pants (the tees would coordinate with this as well). I would wear a light jacket (or a ski jacket) and underwear and socks just in case! Most of the above was also bought at Kohl’s!!

So clever, I wish I could stick to this plan whenever I go away instead of taking huge suitcases !!

I’m very into denim jackets this year. It’s been about 25 years since I’ve worn one, so I guess it’s about time it make its reappearance. :)

These are great choices! My essential items are trouser jeans and a cardigan. Looks like I need to check out Kohl’s!

I LOVE that red dress. A dress you can play up or play down and a denim shirt are always must-haves!

Great tips. It is the best way to shop to buy things you can mix and match. Thanks for sharing.

I’ll be traveling in November and could really use this information! I’ve always had a hard time traveling light! My essentials would include jeans, tights, a black shirt, and a black cardigan. Black just always seems to be a lot easier to style. For me, that is.

These are so cute! I love the orange dress with the brown pants. Looks causal but a little dressy.
