Earlier this week I had the opportunity to interview a Microsoft Executive during his recent visit to New Orleans. New Orleans will soon be home to the 2nd Microsoft Retail Store in Louisiana. The Grand Opening of Micorsoft’s newest retail store located inside Lakeside Shopping Center, will have it’s grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Nov. 14 at 10:30 a.m.
In addition to the ribbon cutting ceremony, customers will have the opportunity to purchase a Toshiba Encore 8-inch 32GB tablet for just $99 or an Xbox 360 for only $99 and is limited to one per customer while supplies last. But Microsoft is not just about transactions, they want to be part of the community! So in addition to their product saving, door prizes and more, they will also be distributing grants to community local community organizations like Girl Scouts of Louisiana East and Team Gleason.
During my interview we also talked tech! We chatted about the 12-inch Surface Pro 3 tablet that can replace your laptop with a detachable keyboard, front and rear-facing cameras, multitouch input with Surface pen and pre-installed apps like OneNote MX and Flipboard. Eliminate the MacBook Air and go from laptop to tablet at your convenience.
Don’t forget about Microsoft Band which I am currently testing out! I will share more soon but you will LOVE this. What is a Microsoft Band? Think productivity and health into one product. The Microsoft Band helps users achieve their wellness goals and stay productive with email, calendar alerts and much more. Want to learn more about your sleep patterns and check your calendar scheduling? You can with Microsoft Band. You can download the free Microsoft Health app from the Windows Store, Play Store, and App Store. It makes staying healthy and being more productive easier than ever.

What is on your wish list this holiday season?

I have the first Surface, the RT and although I’ve stopped using it now, I totally loved it for the longest time and took it everywhere in place of a laptop. I’ll have to check out the 3.
We are big Microsoft fans! My husband is thinking about getting a laptop from them.
The one thing that I do want is a big new lens for my camera. I have a good 50MM but I want one that I can zoom in. I would be happy with any of these Microsoft gifts under the tree though.
I would love to get the new surface for a Christmas gift. This would be great to work with.
The Micosoft Band sounds pretty amazing. I cannot wait to learn more about that!
I’ve been looking at the Surface Pro debating whether to purchase or not!
I love all the above.
Ella
All I have is a desktop. I really should look into some of these! I am definitely not a gamer so the XBox etc are not my cup of tea.
The Microsoft Band looks interesting. I look forward to reading your review.
I sooooooooooooo want a Beats Pill speaker. Hey Santa . . . ARE YOU LISTENING? lol
