metroPCS

Teenagers!!

I have to remind myself that having a teen means choosing which battles I need to fight. My 13 year old needs a cell phone but more importantly I need her to have a reliable mobile phone that havs good coverage, at an affordable price. With her active in sports, music and school we need to be able to get in touch with her asap. My husband & I both work so a schedule is very important to us, but our finances are equally important so I have an affordable EVERYTHING plan for my daughter.

metroPCS is available in the New Orleans area for as low as $40 PERIOD! That means she has unlimited talk, text and 500 mb of data for less than a tank of gas in my “mommymobile”. $40 is the magic number in my family. We had my teen on our main family plan elsewhere and our monthly bill was staggering! Why? Data. Our family talk plan through AT&T would cost us $15 a month after taxes but once we added features like a data plan, we were looking at $50 if not more with taxes.

MetroPCS Wireless

I’m not going broke so my daughter can have data on her mobile! I can handle $40 a month easily!!

With metroPCS there is no annual contract, taxes and regulatory fees are included and has the features and nationwide 4G network coverage you need. You can keep your current phone number if you wish and use your current model phone (including most smartphones & Androids) as well. All you need to do is add a metroPCS sims card for $10 which is perfect for those of us that have a couple extra phones laying around. Put them to good use and save money every month on a less expensive plan for your teen.

My daughter has been using a Windows 8 powered Nokia Lumia 521 for the past month and has been very happy with it. She considers herself a professional phone reviewer and loves to customize her phone for her needs. With this phone the 5mp camera gave her good quality action shots and has large 4 inch display with super sensitive touch. As a mother, I was more concerned with phone coverage & quality reception. We live in a small town outside the New Orleans area. Normally our cell coverage is spotty at best, but since the metroPCS coverage we continued to have blazing fast 4G coverage. That means quality calls and fast download!

One last thing, metroPCS also add-on features like 4G mobile hotspot (and share it with other devices) for only $5 a month! You can also have add Unlimited calling and texting to over 200 destinations in Mexico for an additional $5!! That is fantastic for someone who has family in Mexico! Unlimited calling to over 200 destinations (landlines only), including Mexico City, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Guanajuato, Puebla, Morelia, Queretaro, Merida, San Luis Potosi, and Acapulco! Unlimited mobile texting to select destinations. Dial your calling destination directly from your phone! No more 800 numbers, hidden fees or pins.

When the time is right I may consider adding a line for my son for only $5. He is 9 years old and far from being responsible enough like his big sister to have a phone but I know when the time approaches, I know there is an affordable route we can take with little expense (and commitment) to our family budget.

What is a fair price to pay for a teen phone?

$40/month is an AWESOME deal for unlimited talk, text and 500 mb of data! Definitely worth it for a teen that’s out and about!

That looks like a great solution for those teen years – I’ll have to keep it in mind. Thanks for the review.

Teens are terrible about monitoring their use of data, so that’s a pretty fair amount of allowance for a good price!

That’s a great deal for a teenager phone. When my kids get old enough for their own phones they will have to have a flat rate with unlimited usage. I don’t think I could handle the overage charges.

Thankfully we still have quite awhile before we have to worry about getting a cell phone for our child. This sounds like a great plan though! I’ve heard a lot about MetroPCS, but had no idea exactly how affordable they really are!

Seems like a good plan for a teen $40 is not bad at all. Thankfully I have a few years before my kids start begging for a phone of their own.

I think $40 is a fair price. We pay about $80 fro my hubby and I, and I think it’s $10 to add another line, but we have just the basic phones, not smart phones.
