2017 Toyota Prius Prime Plus - LetsGoPlaces with Toyota and the New Orleans French Quarter Fest

In our recent French Quarter Festival recap post , we mentioned that Toyota USA sponsored our festival fun but what we were even more excited about was test driving the new 2017 Toyota Prius for the week!

We’re talking high tech! The 2017 Toyota Prius Prime Plus is definitely energy efficient meets George Jetson. Innovative technology like a 11.6 in HD multimedia display which allows you to pinch, zoom and swipe gestures gives owners a smart-phone like experience. You can also use a remote climate app available in Prime Apps which can check current temperatures and change to your liking even when you’re not in the vehicle. My Southern friends know allow about summertime heat!

The Toyota Prime Plus also offers intelligent Drive Coach which has Predictive Efficient Drive to boast fuel efficiency by learning more about your route and driving patters. The icon on the display will suggest optimal time to release the accelerator and recover more energy for the hybrid battery with Regenerative Braking. The Toyota Prime Plus also offers a 4.2 in multi information display keeps track of important vitals like energy use, real-time driving data…even local speed limited without looking away from the driver’s dash.

Gas and mileage is a huge issue for me! Both of my kids are older which require more drop offs and pick ups. I’m a month away from my oldest have her driver’s license which will minimize our gas consumption tremendously. With the Toyota Prime Plus features Toyota’s 1st duel motor generator drive system that enables electric driving mode at full highway speeds. The driver controls the EV Auto mode and HV mode.

HV Mode combines the gas engine and electric power from the HV better to the Prius. With a full tank of gas and full electric charge, you could potentially have a EPA estimate of 640 miles! You can plug your vehicle at home, work or at a public charging station to utilize optimal fuel economy.

Safety features like Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Pedestrian Detection, Automatic High Beams, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Blind Spot monitors, you can’t go wrong. You’re biggest problem will be debating on who gets to drive it, you or your loved ones!

A HUGE thank you to Toyota USA for allowing us to test drive the 2017 Toyota Prime Plus. For more information, visit the Toyota USA website and connect with Toyota USA on Twitter or Instagram.
