Disclosure: I received a complimentary Philips Airfryer in order to facilitate this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own and can not be influenced in any way.
I’m a kitchen gadget girl! I love anything that can make my life easier by saving me time and money especially during the workweek. Once thing I have learned over the years is that I can’t expect to create a detailed dinner menu for my family during the work week. Between after school functions, arriving home from at 5:30p.daily and my other household responsibilities I try to manage my time especially in the kitchen.
Recently I was sent a Philips Airfryer with Rapid Air Technology. Living in the South, we love our fried foods but can fried foods be made without the fat? The Philips Airfryer is not a traditional deep dryer. In fact, the recipes I made included no more than 1 tablespoon of olive oil per (entire) dish! Can you imagine a bag of frozen french fries being made with less than 1 tablespoon of olive oil? In addition to the pictures shown, we did in fact make french fries with almost zero oil.
The Philips Airfryer uses hot air in combination with high-speed air circulation and a top grill which provides even cooking and ensures your food cooks at the appropriate adjustable temperature. I leave dishes like fried eggplant to cook for the weekend since it creates a kitchen mess and I need added time to get my eggplant “just right”. Instead I used the Airfryer and “fried” a batch of eggplant with almost no olive oil and in under 7 minutes of cooking time. The timer signals users that your food is ready and includes an easy pull out non stick pan. My teen loves this since she is in charge of cleaning the kitchen after each meal. I heard no complaints for her especially since the basket and pan is dishwasher safe.
Since we received this 3 weeks ago the Philips Airfryer has not left my kitchen counter. It’s easy to use and is quick to clean. The free recipe booklet with more than 30 recipes is an added value. We have made the zucchini fries and roasted pork chops with pineapple during the workweek which is a nice change to our weekly dinner menu. The Philips Airfryer is priced at $249 which is pricey but considering it saves me time during the work week and allows me to avoid the takeout route, it balances out in the long run.
