textPlus

They say “Home is where the heart is” but sometimes being at home isn’t always a possible. Being a blogger, I sometimes have to travel out of state without my family. Naturally I can connect with family on social media, but sometimes you want to hear your loved ones voice or have a private quick conversation as time permits. As connected as I may be to my mobile device, my entire family isn’t as connected do to lack of funds or device capabilities. One of my family’s favorite mobile device apps is called textPlus. TextPlus is available on various Apple or Android Products. Several family members were already avid textPlus users when I choose to review the app.

What is textPlus?

textPlus is a leading mobile communications service that lets anyone text, talk and share for free or cheaply. Their open network connects over 110 million people worldwide through a chart-leading app available for iOS, Android and Windows smartphones and devices including iPod touch and tablets.

The great thing about textPlus is that you can keep in touch and connect with friends & family around the world for free. That means you can call your abuela in Mexico and talk to your cousin living on a military base in Italy with a simple text or phone call. Since international calls can add up, you can save on international calls without having to add an expensive calling plan to your landline or mobile device. So the next time you’re on a international business trip you can connect for free with other textPlus users worldwide.

textPlus

My daughter was already of fan of textPlus and I now see why. Users can enjoy free calling and text to your tablet, phone or WiFi device. Setting up your account is easy & quick. I imported my contects with a touch of a button and received my own free textPlus phone number to use on all my devices. Then I invite friends & family to use textPlus so we can enjoy free messaging and calls, text + call, group text, send photos & walkie talkie!

On a recent blogger trip, textPlus really saved the day. I was able to connect with my family for free via their ipod touch & Kindle Fire. Can you believe all they needed was a WiFi signal no matter where I am in the world? They didn’t even need a phone! Imagine the family you can connect with worldwide. It’s like having a high quality global phone. Now you can even add more savings by watching short videos to earn credits that equate to more minutes. You can also connect through  textPlus with no up-front costs, contracts or hidden fees. The only downside for me is that you can not use the app to make 911 emergency call. Aside from that, it’s a great app and is available to many users.

I missed my family, but knowing that they were just a phone call is very comforting. I can save the money from not having a calling plan for each of my loved one, and use it to create moments when we are together.

You can find textPlus on their website, Facebook or Twitter. Download the Apple App HERE or the Android version HERE.

Available on:
iPhone, iPod touch & iPad
Android
Kindle Fire
Windows Phone
Nokia
