Wordless Wednesday- Our Recent Trip To #Sandestin

October 16, 2013 by Maria

I wanted to share our recent some quick pics from our recent trip to Sandestin. Although my trip was sponsored, we had a wonderful time and would love to stay there again. While I am editing my other pictures I thought I would share the pictures from my Instagram feed. I have been to the area many times yet I never knew going in the fall would be so pleasant. There were never crowds on the beach or at Baytown Wharf where all the shops and restaurants are located which made our trip so relaxing! Continue Reading

Discover Family Holiday Travel in Tennessee

September 17, 2013 by Maria

Aside from traveling for my website, I also travel with my family for our annual family vacation. Although I love basking in the sun during the warm summer months, I also travel in the fall and winter. For our family we have to travel when the kids are out of school (teen is Mz. Perfect Attendance) which can be trying at times. But before my son was even born we have been traveling to The Great Somky Mountains area of Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg. The location is breathtaking! Not only can Continue Reading

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort #spon

The following is a sponsored post. Opinions & thoughts are my own. As many of you know the stressors of life can take a toll on any family that is why it is so important to reconnect with my loved ones whenever possible. My school aged children started school the 1st week of August. Life became crazy pretty quickly once school started. My children received their interim report cards for the 1st four weeks of school today. I'm so glad they are doing well, but I can sense that we are Continue Reading

Educational Travel: New Orleans Edition #NOLA

Because my readers know that I am in the New Orleans area, I am constantly being asked questions like: What can we do in New Orleans with our family? Is it safe for the kids? I can't bring my kids to the French Quarter can I? The misconception that New Orleans is 365 days of Mardi Gras is untrue. Traveling with your family to New Orleans is not only doable but it is a must! You know me & you have seen my family. We are like friends! Not only have I walked the French Quarter with my family Continue Reading

New Orleans Area Attractions: A Perfect History Lesson- Chalmette Battlefield #BayouTravel

Growing up in California, my brother & I made our 1st visit to Louisiana when I was 10 years old. Our grandfather took us all over Louisiana to show us all the history that ran through our state's borders. At 12 years old I moved her permanently with my family & instantly had a deep love for the culture & history of New Orleans. Being a busy working mother means time is so vital to our family. My kids are getting older and we have a very busy schedule but that doesn't mean we can't Continue Reading

Family Friendly Baton Rouge Attractions – LSU Museum of Art #BayouTravel

My Baton Rouge press trip officially concludes at the end of this week. If you have been following along you know that Baton Rouge has so much to offer families as a vacation destination. For me, it is important to include fun and education in any trip. I want my children to grow with each experience and I truly believe that Baton Rouge has so much to offer travelers. Living outside the New Orleans area culture is readily available. But our diversity is in the soil of Louisiana and why I Continue Reading

Reliving Louisiana History-Nottoway Plantation #BayouTravel

Reliving Louisiana History-Nottoway Plantation #BayouTravel

While on our recent trip to Baton Rouge, our family visited Nottoway Plantation House. Since we were trying to incorporate Louisiana History into our recent trip, we knew Nottoway Plantation would be a perfect combination of education and beauty. Nottoway Plantation is one of the largest antebellum plantation houses in the south, is composed of 64 rooms, 7 staircases, and 5 galleries. Words, nor my pictures, can truly showcase its natural beauty but I'm attempting to do so. Nottoway Continue Reading

The Cook Hotel and Conference Center at LSU

The Cook Hotel and Conference Center at LSU

One of my favorite parts of summer is traveling with my family. I feel very fortunate that I live under a "perfect travel arc". The Gulf Coast has so much to offer their travelers, that it would be a shame if locals did not take advantage of being a short drive away from a new adventure. This month my family & I went on a 3 day trip to Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We were fortunate enough to stay at the The Cook Hotel and Conference Center at LSU. That's right, I said LSU! The boutique hotel is Continue Reading

Free Family Fun Activities #MSGulfCoast

July 29, 2013 by Maria

I feel so fortunate that for the summer I dropped down to 4 days a week (versus 5 days) in order to spend more time with my kids this summer. I miss my kids when I am at work more so during the summer months. Since I am off an extra day during the week, I try to look for fun summer activities for the kids & I. But taking the kids out in the town can get pricey. Taking the kids to a kid friendly museum or attraction can cost a minimum of $40 in my area not including lunch. So I try to look for Continue Reading

Summer Fun at Sea World Orlando Florida #VisitOrlando

July 25, 2013 by Maria

One thing I love about traveling with your family is that those memories are notched in their minds until they get older. My children have fond memories of many travel adventures and love to reminisce about those journeys we take as a family (hopefully through adulthood). When you visit Orlando you have to take some time to Sea World with the family. There is something so soothing about marine sea life that can make any theme park tranquil and a exciting at the same time. We were so excited Continue Reading

Going “Hollywood” at Universal Studios #VisitOrlando

July 22, 2013 by Maria

A few days before Christmas I was watching Big Bang Theory late one evening with my hubby & feeding my Twitter addiction. I saw a giveaway for Universal Studios Orlando Florida Tickets that was going to in 2 hours. I remember telling my husband: "I'll be right back, going to enter a quick giveaway." Little did I know I would be the winner of 4-Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure Single Day Tickets PLUS 4-Express Pass Tickets. If your doing the math with my family your looking at over $900 Continue Reading
