Back to School Shopping Haul- Thrift Store Edition

In our area Back to School starts the August 8th. Yup, that means right around the corner. My 11 (almost 12) year old daughter is 5’ft 3″ in tall & is currently in Ladies/Junior Sizing. The hardest thing to buy for her is bottoms. We went to Academy Sports & Outdoors last weekend to purchase her uniform tops & khaki shorts. What I came out with was 4 short sleeved junior girl tops, 5 khaki shorts, 2 pairs of gym type shorts, a backpack for my son , & a drink/snack for myself (I was tired & hungry at the end of the trip). Grand Total $154.10!!

Since my son has all his uniforms already purchased (minus pants for winter), I decided this week I would finish my daughter by purchasing her pants for when the cold weather sets in. My mission was to purchase all her bottoms (4-5 pairs minimum) this Saturday morning. I was bringing $40 which should be plenty to see what kind of deals I can get hitting the garage sales, thrift sales, and consignment sales.

Want to see my haul??

5 Pairs of Khaki Pants: Coldwater Creek, Old Navy, Eddie Bauer, Ana& Liz Claiborne

PLUS I picked up 2 dresses: 1 was a Brand New Karlee Dress with a Boutique tag priced of $89!

Lastly, I bought my daughter a Levis Yak Pak- Bag to match her Khaki bottom dress code. I also bought my mother a Robe NWT

Grand Total: $39.04

I shop for family little kids, teen boys, grown daughters, sons-in-law at consignment (in their $1 corner) and at Goodwill. Absolutely stunning what is out there. Daughter bought a $400 evening gown for $100 at consignment that was brand new. Got beautiful shoes to match for $12, brand new. This for an officer’s military ball.

Great haul. I rarely have luck finding stuff for mine. They just have a hard body type. All legs and no waist. I do like the pants at Childrens Place. They roll and button into capris. Good for the whole year!
