The Following is a sponsored post. All opinions are my own & can not be influence in any way.

Losing weight is something that I have been working on for several years. It seems like I do well for a few weeks then once I plateau, all my good word ends and nothing else is lost. What I have been needing is something to change my mind frame and metabolism. It’s not that I eat a overeat or that I’m eating nothing but processed, unhealthy foods either. I need to exercise more and get my slow metabolism going on overdrive.

I was recently offered the opportunity to review a new book called The Fast Metabolism Diet. For 28 days I followed the guidelines to create a fast metabolism that is on fire. The book itself was very informative not only did I learn more about the science of the diet plan but it also came with 4 weeks of meal plans and over 50 recipes which included vegetarian, organic, and gluten-free options. I work in healthcare so dieting naturally & safely is the only way for me to lose weight. I don’t want an “quick” solution, I wanted something that can help the way I think about food and rev-up my metabolism.

What makes Fast Metabolism Diet different from others?

The Fast Metabolism Diet gives your metabolism the fuel it needs to serve its purpose: Burning off excess body fat.

By using the Fast Metabolism Diet I’m not going to count a single calorie or fat gram. Instead, I’m going to rotate what you’re eating throughout each week & carefully introduce specific foods to create a physiological changes that will charge my metabolism & get it working properly.

Various Phases of the Fast Metabolism Diet

PHASE ONE (Monday-Tuesday): Lots of carbs and fruits
PHASE TWO (Wednesday-Thursday): Lots of proteins and veggies
PHASE THREE (Friday-Saturday-Sunday): All of the above, plus healthy fats and oils
Repeat for four weeks!

An important aspect of the book was that it did contain some very appetizing recipes and menu plans. I think adding those recipes was a big reason why I did lose the weight. The recipes were simple and easy to make. I loved that most of the recipes had 5-7 ingredients vs. the alternative of 14 or more ingredients that I may not have on hand. I also liked that there was a Master Food List that contain various foods from each phase. I had a copy of the food list in my purse for easy access during my weekly grocery run.

It has been nearly 28 day and I have lost 4.9 lbs. While I don’t think this is a fast solution, I think it is a safe, healthy solution to losing weight. I “may” have lost inches in my upper body, the 5 lbs I lost were done naturally. I’m very happy about the small weight loss. I’m hoping that my continuing in this process I can drop some more pounds and speed up my metabolism so I can continue to reach my weight loss goal.

This sounds more like a lifestyle change than a diet. I’ve known so many people that worked on increase the speed of their metabolism with success. I hope it all works out for you as well.

Interesting that you didn’t make the goal! This was a tricky diet for me, I did a lot of things totally wrong :)

I did pretty bad at the exercise, but I think this program is one of the better ones out there! As I’ve gotten older, I know that my metabolism has slowed down – this is exactly what I need!
