Wordless Wednesday

One of my favorite pictures of my daughter & husband. We went to the Saengar Theatre in New Orleans to see Dora The Explorer Live in 2003. The picture was taken outside of the Seanger Theatre in the median of N. Rampart St. facing Canal Street, which is being restored due to severe damage of hurricane Katina & is due to be completed 2013. The Seanger Theatre is such an amazing historical & architectural gem of New Orleans. I’m so glad to see that the restoration will be completed soon.

My picture was damaged (as you can see)to due Katrina. I took a picture of the damaged original print I have. It goes to show you that even 6+ years later, Hurricane Katrina is still a constant reminder of what we have lost.

~~ To old Memories & new Memories made.

It’s a great picture and it now has character. I thought it was sun rays on them. Looks like a fun family show, she’s smiling ear to ear!

How did you get the picture to have that vintage reel type quality to it? Very cool.

I didn’t realize the photo was damaged until you pointed it out. We lost so many pictures in Hurricane Andrew, but many we were able to save by soaking in water right after we found them. I love the picture and think it speaks volumes about the relationship of a father/daughter.

Wow, such devastation! I’m glad such a piece of your history is being restored. Love the photo!

Wow, I just assumed it was an filter like Instagram or something… so amazing to keep memories that have gone through so much.

I didn’t realize it was damaged either until you mentioned it. The important thing though is that it is still a great photo and now has extra memories attached to it, and you can make those memories happy one’s because it did make it through.
