The Walking Dead on AMC, Sundays 8p.m central

My husband & I rarely watch television. During the week there doesn’t seem like enough time to watch a evening sitcom or drama. I spend my weeknights cooking, cleaning, spending time with my family, and prepping for the next workday. That’s one of the reasons why I love weekend television. I can watch television while catching up while doing laundry or waiting for my recently cleaned floors to dry. Exciting right?

Another reason I love weekend television is The Walking Dead which airs on AMC Sunday at 8pm central time. My husband & I fancy ourselves mentally skilled in the Zombie Apocalypse Area. We have watched almost every zombie movie recently made and have no problem chopping someone’s head off or stabbing someone in the brain if a friend or foe “starts to turn”. If your a fan of The Walking Dead on AMC then you also have learned some very valuable zombie apocalypse lessons.

7 Valuable Lessons The Walking Dead Has Taught Me About Surviving The Zombie Apocalypse

1. Stay Together As A Group
Since we were small children we were taught to stay with the group, but for some, that lesson is hard to teach. Never leave your group or stray away even for a second. Haven’t you learned from all those horror movies by now? If you are alone, you will won’t survive!!

2. If A Zombie Bites Your Leg, Quickly Chop the Leg Off
I’m not a fan of dismemberment, but if zombie blood get in your system then you have to cut off the body part (if able to) before the virus hits your blood stream. I’m so sorry but if you don’t, someone will be chopping your head off instead of your leg.

3. There Is No Time For Relationship

Are you really thinking about a certain someone right now? Come on, it’s survival time not romance time!! Keep your mind focus on important matters like not getting bitten or killed.

4.Don’t Have Sex During a Zombie Apocalypse
Going back to no relationships even if you are married, do you really want to chance being pregnant and running from zombies? What if you get bitten and deliver a zombie baby or worse, you become a zombie and bite your baby? Talk about bad timing. Just keep your pants on, seriously.

5. Be Prepared to Wear the Same Clothes For 2 Seasons
I know we’re not talking years of wearing the same clothing, but I’m getting tired of the cast of The Walking Dead wearing the same old garb each and every season. I’m not that much of a girly girl, but can’t they run into a store and take the clothing off a mannequin? Also, make sure if you learn of a zombie apocalypse that the first thing you do is put some sneakers on. As you can tell from the show, no one that survived had wedges or heels on, just sayin’

6. Without Teeth Zombies Can’t Kill You
Really good information to know! It makes sense that without a zombie’s teeth your pretty much free and clear from dying. Just make sure you pry their teeth and cut their hands off so they won’t try to choke you. Use this to your advantage: Zombies with no teeth can help deter other zombies from trying to attack you since their scent will distract your human blood scent. So get a rope and let them carry your equipment for you. They have to be good for something!

7. Learn To Use a Cross Bow
Really, it’s all about lagniappe. If someone is using a cross bow to kill zombies, their pretty “bad-ass”. Become their friend because you are bound to survive or learn to cross bow yourself.

These are great zombie lessons. I also like the tips that the movie Zombieland has. Cardio, don’t be a hero, and always wear a seatbelt. Those are just as good LOL!
I think if I were stuck in a Zombie Apocalypse, I would definitely be one of the survivors LOL!!

    Maria,

The hubby and I dvr The Walking dead as well. My husband has his game plan down as to what he would do first to fortify our land should an zombie apocalypse seem eminent!
We watched this weeks episode and I simply could not believe Glenn and Maggie took a little break from standing guard to get busy! Geez Louise! Did they not learn anything from what happened to Lori???:)
Totally agree with all your tips!

I feel like I’ve been missing out on all the fun by not watching the show! I like pointing out the silliness in tv shows too!!!
