Old El Paso Stand N Stuff

I received food items in order to facilitate this post. All opinions are my own.

Like many of you, my workweek is hectic. I don’t know one mother who has “all the time in the world” to get things done. As our to do list gets longer, our free time gets cut even shorter so I am always on a mission to find ways to cut corners. Dinnertime is a perfect example on how I cut corners. I try to use ingredients that can help save me time in the kitchen so I can spend more quality time where it maters most.

Growing up in a Hispanic family we regularly had tacos and other Mexican foods weekly. When my mother didn’t make her own mesa tortillas, we often bought our soft tortillas at the grocery store to save our family a little time. To this day, I will not fix my tacos on a hard shell. I always, I repeat always use corn (mesa) tortillas or a soft tortilla. But having children mean big messes. I was so excited to find out that Old ‘El Paso now makes a Stand & Stuff Soft Tortilla. These perfect tortilla bowls can be used in tacos, individual layered dips and even taco salads. You can also buy the dinner kits that include tortillas, seasoning mix, and taco sauce.

Old El Paso Mexican Cooking Sauces

The best part of making tacos is that you can essentially use any extra ingredients you found in your home. I used Roasted Tomato Old El Paso® Mexican Cooking Sauce that made my tacos flavorful in minutes. Growing up, tacos did not necessarily come with lettuce & tomatoes. We always had cilantro, salsa and queso blanco. Anything else was lagniappe! Tonight’s taco dinner consisted on refried beans (not pictured) as a 1st layer then I added all the additional ingredients on top. As you can see by my ingredient picture, we kept things very simple for my kids. Children love tacos because they can add or eliminate ingredients that satisfy their palette.

To make our lives even easier Old ‘El Paso also carries a new line of Mexcican Cooking Sauces. Chile Roasted Garlic, Roasted Tomato & Chipotle flavors. These flavors add a kick to your next meal by combining Mexican herbs & spices with a saucy blend of saucy blend of chile, garlic and roasted vegetables. I added the entire contents of the bag to 1 1/2 lb of chicken breast strips. Then I added my ingredients & spices and voila dinner. I’ll leave me time consuming dishes like tamales or chili relleno for a Saturday afternoon.

At my house we really enjoy taco night but I prefer the crunch shells and my husband prefers the soft tortilla shells. I haven’t seen the new stand and stuff soft shells but I am going to look for them when I go to the store. It will be perfect for our taco night. Your recipe looks and sounds super tasty!
