Teens & College - Saving Money on Books by using book rental programs

With the school year almost nearly completion, my daughter came home from school the other day with a booklet that can help plan her high school course schedule. I mean, I knew it was coming. Her high school days will come and go with a blink of an eye.

She started to talk about college choices, moving out of state and the cost of tuition and text books which lead me to panic mode. I’m not ready for this! I quit my full-time job last week to focus on building my website and taking opportunities to expand from there. Now I’m supposed to start thinking about college?

My daughter and I chatted about her dreams and the cost of going to UCLA and moving to California. I reminded her that her dreams cost money and while she should try to achieve her dreams, let’s keep cost in mind as well. We chatted about local state schools, living in a dorm (or at home) and possibly renting textbooks to save can save college students money so they can focus on other things they may need for school.

What are the perks from using CampusBookRentals.com?

-save 40-90% off of bookstore prices
-free shipping both ways
-can highlight in the textbooks
-flexible renting periods
-plus they donate to Operation Smile with each textbook rented
Watch their video below for additional information.

How does it work?:

You may find more information about Operation Smile at: www.operationsmile.org. Campusbookrentals.com donates a portion of the proceed with each textbook rented to Operation Smile. That’s something we can all smile about!

Do you think about your child’s college years? Are they in the planning process how life after high school?

I can’t even think about college right now! My daughter turns 9 next week so I know that’s not as far away as I hope/think. Right now we are facing paying for private school so that’s enough on my plate.

I try not to remember all the money I spent on college text books which were out of date the next year—accounting and science change by the hour if not the minute! I wish they had this when I went-$1000’s of dollars would have been saved in my case–and I’m not kidding. I love that they support and donate to Operation Smile-such a worthy organization.

It’s been a long time since I was in school, but I’m still recovering from sticker shock. It’s unreal what they charge for textbooks. I need to remember that they are available for rent when it’s time to send off my kiddos.

my daughter used this service & she said it was easy peasy! No hassle even when she had to keep the book longer than expected.

I cringe when I think about the cost of books back when I was in college and I know they will be so much higher by the time my kids get there. Thank goodness for rental options like this one!
