Disclosure: Complimentary tickets were provided to me as a blogger. All opinions & experiences are my own.

Almost 2 weeks ago my husband & I went to New Orleans to enjoy The All-New Gospel Brunch at House of Blues New Orleans, Produced by Kirk Franklin. If you live in the area or have traveled to New Orleans, The House of Blues is a musical landmark on its own. I’ve been to many concerts there back in the day and was thrilled to have a few hours alone with my husband. No kids, no work, cleaning or cooking? It already sounds like a perfect morning, right? Ha!!

The experience I had was, well moving! I went to the The All-New Gospel Brunch at House of Blues New Orleans thinking I was going to enjoy good downhome cooking (which I did) and listen to a few talented musical artist (which I did). But I was also moved! I felt I was in Church, not to Church I have never been to; but to a Church I wanted to be apart of. I listened, I laughed and I did cry.

My life is pretty amazing & I feel so blessed to have the experiences I have had in my life, but there are parts that are not as glamorous! Parts that I have no control over. Parts of my life where I feel defeated. I can only change myself, but it is not me that needs changing. I’m crying as I write this post. My mother has health problems that stem from her battle with addiction. As she fights, I love and pray for her.

At the The All-New Gospel Brunch I found myself crying. The lead singer who spoke about 20 years of sobriety & I thoughts went to my mother. Here I am eating the most amazing southern food that New Orleans has to offer, listening to classic & new hymn alike, and sitting with my partner in life that I am so blessed to have, my husband. I soaked in those 2 hurs of entertainment and treated like I DID just step out of a church!

When my mother gets out of the treatment center she is currently in, I am going to take her to The All-New Gospel Brunch at the House of Blues. By then she will need that down home cooking and revive in her faith with God and in herself!! I hope that she soaks in the same moving feeling I had, finds herself entertained and realizes how blessed she is to still be near her biggest supporter of her life- God.

The All-New Gospel Brunch at House of Blues New Orleans, Produced by Kirk Franklin

Considered by many to be the most popular brunch experience in the country, Gospel Brunch at House of Blues is a non-denominational, participative celebration of gospel music to help wipe away the week’s troubles and inspire the week ahead. During brunch, guests are treated to an uplifting live music alongside standby morning feast favorites such as cornbread muffins and maple butter, Creole chicken and shrimp jambalaya, chicken and waffles, carving stations, plus create-your-own Bloody Mary and mimosa bars.

For the past few months, Kirk Franklin has been heavily engaged in creating the new Gospel Brunch experience, visiting House of Blues clubs in person and tailoring each show to fit the club’s individual market. The new Gospel Brunch experience will be infused with the same kind of contemporary energy that has made Franklin the biggest selling Gospel Music artist in the world, with special appearances by Franklin himself at select locations.Kirk Franklin’s Gospel Brunch is happening now at House of Blues locations in: Anaheim, CA (Downtown Disney); Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; Dallas, TX; Houston, TX; Las Vegas, NV; Myrtle Beach, SC; New Orleans, LA; Orlando, FL (Downtown Disney); San Diego, CA; and Los Angeles, CA. Hey, we have a picture together in front of the House of Blues in New Orleans, at least I got to see it on the outside anyway! I’ll have to actually go inside on my next visit! Sounds like we have a brunch date the next time I’m out there!

Glad you had a moving experience there, and it would be awesome if you could take your mom there!

That sounds absolutely fantastic! I know I would thoroughly enjoy that, and now I have to see if they do that in other cities on Sundays as well.
