Like many families, Family Game Night is a fan favorite in my house. My school aged kids love to play any types of games from video games to board game. They even like to make up their own games (which usually results in a fight between the two)! Luckily, Hasbro has taken Family Game Night to the next level by making a new line of Board Games compatible with your favorite Apple Device.
My family recently had the opportunity to try Hasbro’s Monopoly zaPPed Edition this week. All week my children have been anxiously waiting for our Friday Family Game Night. Naturally, I had to remind them that all their chores had to be done & their rooms must be cleaned before game night. The trick worked because my children had the cleanest room I have EVER seen, well…clean for them! They were so curious as to what Zapped Edition entailed!
I made sure my I Phone was fully charged and we began our Family Game Night. First thing we had to do is download the Monopoly zaPPed App from I-Tunes. Free of course and we were good to go. The premise of the game is the same as the original version, but my favorite feature is that the “Bank” is keeping tabs of everyone’s money for you on an individual bank card. Whether Daddy owes son money for rent, or your son owes money to break out of jail, the tab is being kept digitally! Chance & Community Chest are in the form of an interactive game which my children LOVED!! You can earn or owe money based on the results of your game. The graphics were very nice & kept their attention while we were playing.
We stopped for a short bit to make beignets, then we were playing until almost 10pm tonight!! Although we were still on a device, playing Monopoly zaPPed is a fun way to spend time together & enjoy each others company. The whole family had a great time & it brought a nice twist to Family Game Night.
