The holiday season has arrived and our home will soon be filled with familía, food y alegría. I say food because Christmas family dinner is always help at my house. My parents, brother, sister and their families will be spending Christmas day in my home. I always loved Christmas! My file box of holiday memories are filled with simple times. Family customs that came from not having a lot of money but simply celebrating our love for each other and the connection that ties us.
While we have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner, we have a fiesta in December! Our family each brings a Mexican inspired entree or side dish and celebrate our heritage. We celebrate with ponche (apple cinnamon punch), spicy pork tamales, menudo and bunuelos (Mexican Christmas cookies) for dessert.
