This is a Sponsored Post: All opinions are my own & can not be influenced.

Many of you know how important senior care is to me. Aside from the fact that I work in a long-term care facility, I also have a mother suffering from Early On-Set Dementia. My mother celebrated her 56th birthday this week. She’s too young for Dementia right? Wrong. She has her good days and her bad, but for the most part she can provide care for herself. We are fortunate that she lives with my father and youngest sister. They help with her everyday care, but since they both work my family worried about her when no one is home.

I was recently introduced to The Genesis Phone. The Genesis Phone is a new kind of cell phone that gives your loved ones a 24/7 support system. When you give them the Genesis Phone, you can rest easy knowing they can reach out to you (or our around-the-clock call center) when they’re in need. One of the features I am excited about is that we can be alerted of their location by GPS and also send our loved ones reminders, like when to take medication. My mother is not familiar with smartphones so this makes it easier for us to communicate without feeling like we are being too pushy or not giving her some independence.

Between the 24/7 Emergency Center, Auto reminders and the GPS, caregivers and families can take some of the stress off of them and know that their loved one is safe. The GPS is a huge plus for me. so many times my mother wants to take a walk to our local park. Is she healthy enough to take a short stroll nearby? At her stage of dementia, yes but that doesn’t mean we aren’t worried or concerned about her especially while we are working..

Currently the Genesis Phone is available for pre-sale at the price of $149 per unit. Also, starting this week, there will be a “donate” feature where anyone can donate whatever amount they’d like and all donated funds will be pooled to provide Genesis Gems to parents or caregivers that can’t afford to purchase the unit on their own. You can find more information on the Genesis Gem on their website

Do you have a loved one that may benefit from a product like this? What features would you like to see included in this product?

This is a great invention. My grandmother has dementia. She is lucky enough to have her sons and daughter (my mom) nearby to help out and use a home nurse.

I think I would like to have this for my grandma. She only lives about 2 blocks away, but I really like the features and peace of mind this could offer us!

I can see this being a huge help for everyone who cares for their parents or sibblings who need help. I’m sure we’ll be using this in our future as well.

This has some really great safety features. It’s something I will have to think about getting for a couple of my loved ones before long.

thanks for sharing about Genisis, my parents are getting older, and I don’t live as close as my brothers and sisters do, it looks like a good idea.
