DOLE® Fruit Parfaits

As a busy mother, time management is a huge issue for me. I struggle at times to find a balance between taking care of my family and taking care of myself. Monday through Friday I head over to work once both my children are at school. I’ll admit that I normally grab a cup of coffee and am on my way with no breakfast and possibly no lunch prepared for myself. What then happens is I run to the gas station or hit the vending machine. Woah…Big No-No!!

Aside from the added expense of buying for convenience, I also face potentially adding ‘junk” food to my diet. So every week I try and stock up on products that I can grab and go, yet satisfy my appetite (and sweet tooth) during my 8 hours workday. One product that adds all around refreshing and satisfying taste is DOLE Fruit Parfaits. DOLE Fruit Parfaits offers a cool, refreshing taste of real fruit with a smooth layer of deliciously light-tasting crème. What I really enjoy most about purchasing Dole Fruit Parfaits is that it can be used for breakfast, lunch or even a sweet treat before bed.

Dole Parfaits

DOLE Fruit Parfaits
are available in three flavors: Pineapple and Crème, Apples and Crème & Peaches and Crème. DOLE Fruit Parfaits contain all natural fruit and are rich in Vitamin C. I add dry cereal to my parfait in the morning to give me a filling breakfast without adding greasy meat or added fat that a breakfast sandwich may offer. DOLE Fruit Parfaits are naturally low fat, cholesterol free and very low in sodium. Another “heart healthy” way to use Dole Fruit Parfaits is to add to your oatmeal instead of dry cereal.

DOLE Fruit Parfaits are available in the canned fruit section at select grocery retailers and online and retail for about $2.79 per package of 4. That is a huge price difference then going to the vending machine everyday! I normally buy these for myself, but my kids and husband also enjoy them. My husband has a HUGE sweet tooth right before bed. Every evening he checks the grocery pantry for something to quench his sweet fix. I normally buy these and he gravitates to them as a healthier option than processed cookies or snack cakes.

Healty On the Go lunch

As you can see in the pictures above, aside from using Dole Fruit Parfaits as a quick on the go breakfast item, I also pair it with my lunch. I take about 10-15 minutes to prepare both my breakfast and lunch. In the evening before bed, I quickly fix a turkey & cheese wrap for both myself & my husband. We split one large tortilla wrap and find ourselves full from the fresh fruit & dry fruit snacks. Summer is coming and since my husband works outside or in hot buildings, he generally doesn’t eat a large lunch. This is the perfect portion for me everyday and for my husband during the warm upcoming months. I’m horrible about making breakfast for myself. If I have coffee and toast I feel like I’m splurging.
I’d love the apple and creme topped with cereal to switch things up or have for a snack.
