Box Tops For Education

It’s no secret that many school systems across America are struggling for money. Whether the need is playground equipment, music instruments, or field trip funds, fundraising is key to any school’s budget.

Last week I had the opportunity to attend a Box Top for Education University Event in New Orleans, La. Last year Box Tops for Education helped schools receive $67 million dollars nationwide in 2011!! On average, a school can typically receive $800 when the community can be involved. My children’s school has received over $1,400 just this school year alone.

I was very excited about this event. I love collecting Box Tops For Education for my children’s elementary school. In fact, since my daughter is a few years older than my 7 year old son, I generally give the Box Tops to my son. I’m hoping that by sending baggies full of Box Tops it makes up for those occasions that my 7 year old son gets his name on the board.

My latest stash of Box Tops to turn in (Brownie Points...I hope so)

Ok… It’s bribery, but whatever gets my son on a teachers good side is always a plus in my book.

There are 3 ways to earn money for your favorite school.

1. Clipping Box Tops from participating products.

2. Earning E-Box Tops online by using their Shop & Earn Portal

3. Bonus Box Tops from Events at participating Stores like Sam’s club or Winn-dixie

I learned so much from this event, but the main goal for Box Tops For Education is to give back to our schools, the teachers, and most importantly the students.

I'm so excited about these items!!

I didn’t know you can earn from receiving the newsletter. Will have to sign up for that. Right now I have about 30 box tops collected. If I miss one my son makes sure to point it out for me so I can clip it. I think it’s a wonderful program and wish there were more like it.

I love the Box Top program. I have about 30 saved up right now and will be bringing them to my kids school shortly. I wish there were more programs like this one. Our schools can always use the help.

LOL Don’t feel bad. I made sure my daughter took a bagful of Box Tops to my grandson’s first orientation- she was the only one who knew about the program.

Yeap, it feels good to be on the good side! ; )

Our school collects box tops and it does make a difference. I didn’t know about the signing up for the newsletter but will pass that on to our Box Top coordinator so we can include it in our school newsletter. I just put a baggie full of boxtops in my purse to give to one of my teachers. My 7th grader isn’t into taking them to her school any more. Teenagers!

I enjoy collecting Box Tops but since we are on strict diets, and Huggies no longer provides them, it’s really hard to find them on our typical groceries. Wondering how to find a Box Top event?
