1. Shoe Avalanche
The first thing you notice when walking into my house is the constant stack of shoes at my front door. I hate that my kids put their shoes there, but I also hate when my children wear their shoes in the house. I live in the country, so this is something a lot of people do.

2. Coffee Addiction:
I work in the Healthcare Industry which means crazy shifts and never enough coffee. If I work a morning shift, I am definitely on my 3rd travel mug of coffee by 9a.m. I also work the overnight shift every other weekends which means coffee is a necessity, unless I want to fall asleep on the job.

3. Straw Stash

I have a very bad habit of drinking out of a straw. It is to the point that without a straw I drink very little. Since we all need our hydration, I rather just buy straws than ween myself off of them. Or, if your my husband, he loves to take extra straws at every restaurant we find ourself in.

4. Don’t use my nice plates!!

I have 5 sets of China in my home. Not including the collections in my attic or the dinnerware we have in the kitchen cabinets, yet we use paper plates to eat out of. I know it’s bad for the environment & I’m trying to decrease our disposable plate usage slowly but surely.

5. Bread is Bad!

Bread is my downfall. I love a good homemade roll or homemade slice of Amish White Bread, but I much prefer a tortilla to bread. We buy huge bags at a time or I make my own homemade tortillas. I’m Hispanic so I grew up having PB & J on a warm flour tortilla and to this day would prefer it to regular bread.

Who needs bread when you can use a tortilla for everything!

What would we learn about you through pictures??

Y’all should be so glad I didn’t show you my daughter’s room!! That is a whole separate “My Daughter Should Be On Hoarders” Blog Post!!

I have a straw addiction, too. They aren’t bad! :) And, I love tortillas, too! I’ve tried to make my own, they just never turn out like they do if you buy them!

I love drinking from a straw, too. Stuff that is too cold hurts my teeth and a straw is the best way to drink without pain.

I think we are ALL addicted to coffee. We need to form a support group….and bring coffee to the meetings.

I am trying to learn how to make gluten free flour tortillas. The ones I make are sort of hard, but they taste pretty good.

I just sent all my straws home with my grand children as mine seemed to be breeding in the cabinet and slowly there was no room for anything else. Enjoyed my visit and learning about you.

I love your china collection! I wish I hadn’t have been so practical with my wedding registration and asked for a few things. I would love a china tea set or silver tea set…some day.

I am guilty of paper plates too. My hubby knows I am having a bad week if he sees I bought paper plates. He knows I don’t want to do dishes lol

  24. Sujeiry says

    August 8, 2012 at 4:28 pm

Oh my God! The china cracked me up. My mother is the same. She has the nicest and fanciest plates and glasses locked up and we use the same three sad plates that she leaves out lol. Hilarious.

  25. Patti Winker says

    August 8, 2012 at 4:50 pm

Five sets of china! I’m jealous. 😉

I understand the straw ‘fetish’ – my daughter carries around a huge mug of tea or water with her all day with a straw. That’s how she stays hydrated. My SIL actually threw out her favorite straw once and it caused quite a commotion. She was NOT a happy camper! He keeps buying straws for her but has yet to find one exactly like her favorite one. oh oh.

Shoe piles in the entry are very familiar to me. Most of the houses I lived in had entry closets so that was nice for hiding the shoe piles. Now in our condo there is no entry closet so I have a big basket by the door.

    This is fun, isn’t it!

You and I are very similar! We live in the country too and I HATE the HUGE pile of shoes at our front door, there really is nowhere else to put them though! I love bread but use tortillas a lot , they are yummy. I’ve only got one set of china, we’ve used it once! Your hubby is smart for taking extra straws!

I’ve never had a homemade tortilla, I’d love love love to try one

I am also horribly addicted to straws. Everyone laughs because my glove box is even full of them, that is until they get a drink at a drive through and they do not get a straw! Glad I am not alone.

I agree with the tortilla sentiment! and I love homemade – but most times I am sooooo lazy LOL – which is messed up since they are so easy to make!
