Beachside View at Beachers Lodge - St. Augustine Florida #BayouTravel

My family enjoys traveling with me on our #BayouTravel adventures. In fact, they have become tiny traveling insiders. They can spot the differences in locations, can feel mood changes at specific resorts or attractions and are continuously learning through our experiences. But one thing about my family, we love to be surprised.

Available condos at Beachers Lodge St. Augustine, Florida #BayouTravel

In early March our family visited St. Augustine, Florida for the 1st time. I had no business relationship with the lodging location and had zero expectations. I knew we had booked a one bedroom condo with a beachfront view, nothing more. My kids were already concerned but I reassured them that the sofa was a pull-out so their needs would be met. The condo’s size issue was not only bigger than I anticipated, but it had a nice beach decor & furniture. We had a busy trip planned so we anticiapted spending little time in our condo yet felt drawn to it every evening.

Our kitchen, dining and family room area was large with plenty of seating and storage. I did bring some snack and breakfast items since there was no continental breakfast available. For our convenience, the hotel was seated next to 2 different restaurant and nearby a well-stocked gas station.

Most amenity for my family? WiFi: We had free WiFi (my kids were very relieved) and also came with a well stocked bookcase with plenty of reading material during our beach stay.

The master bedroom offered a king bed and several dressers in addition to the Jack and Jill bathroom. Perhaps a new decorative duvet may have changed the overall appearance of the bedroom regardless, my husband & I enjoyed having a large bedroom to ourselves in lieu of a hotel style room.

Beachers Lodge is located a few miles away from Historic St. Augustine with easy access to varies retail shops, restaurants and attractions. Beachers Lodge has a fantastic view and outdoor heated pool as well. Staff was very friendly, had a attentive housekeeping staff and always stocked our toiletries and kitchen needs daily. They also offer a drawing monthly for previous guest to win a free weekend stay! I didn’t win but you might! You can find more information on their website, Facebook page and Twitter account.

I love surprises, don’t you?

Have you been pleasantly surprised with accommodation selection while traveling?

I would love to visit S. Augustine some day – and with my big family this would be an awesome place to stay! It’s nice to have some room for everyone, instead of cramming in to a hotel!

What a wonderful place to stay. I love the idea of renting a condo versus a hotel room. It’s great to have a roomy home away from home to come back to at the end of a busy day. Also, I like the idea of a small kitchen so you are not eating every single meal in a restaurant.

I love those historic little towns and what a nice place to stay too! I like to stay places with built in kitchens.
