No summer would be complete without spending the day at a large water park with the family. While we were vacationing in Branson we stopped at White Water, a Silver Dollar City Attraction. White Water is a water park for the entire family nestled in the beautiful Ozarks of Branson, Missouri.
With over 2 million gallons of water, there is something for everyone. From SurfQuake wave pool, Ohana Falls (a ProSlide mammoth family raft ride) to Kalani Towers (a slide deck featuring 2 speed slides and 4 “Racing Lanes”) there is something for every age range in your family.
We arrived on a slightly overcast late morning. There was not a raindrop in sight but the sun was being faintly generous to us. Since I have my DSLR camera, mobiles and valuables in tow, I opted to rent a private cabana for the day. In hindsight I should have saved my money and simply rented a locker because the park was not the least bit crowded. I assumed I would be fighting for a few pool chairs and wanted to forgo walking to the nearest locked when I needed my mobile or camera.
White Water offered their guests plenty of seating that a cabana is simply not needed. Those that are interested can enjoy a large television with satellite, personal locker, ceiling fans, private tables and chairs as well as lounge chairs for the entire family and much more.
Our first stop was the lazy river, Aloha River before heading over to the adventure rides with my kids. Several rides have height and weight restrictions but several rides offer zero height requirement. If you happen to have a smaller child, your child can enjoy Coconut Cove or Splashaway Cay as well as Ohana Falls which can be experienced by the entire family.
Hate waiting in lines? During our visit we did not experience any lines worth mentioning. I’m not sure if I lucked out or if lines are not an issue but we were able to ride several rides back to back with minimal wait times.
My family went on every ride including KaPau Plummet, a heart pounding thrill slide that has a near vertical 70 degree plunge through two 240 foot dueling slides. To top it all off, a spiraling loop will have an adrenaline junkie climbing back for more. KaPau Plummet cost more than 1.7 millions dollar and was unveiled in May of 2014. You can imagine why KaPau Plummet is the biggest thrill slide in White Water History.
Me? No thank you!
I let me kids enjoy the thrill ride while I sat in the corner afraid. Yes, I’ll admit it.
My family couldn’t get enough of the SurfQuake Wave Pool which is part of the Nite Water Experience. Starting July 3rd, White Water will keep their doors open until 10pm every Thursday thru Saturday. In addition, they will over Dive In Movies every Friday night. Guest can play from 10a.m until 10 p.m with food specials also available.
My family had a great time during our visit to White Water. White Water is open daily through August 10th, 10 a.m-7p.m and on select days from August 3rd thru September 7th. Be sure to visit the website to plan your upcoming visit to White Water. If you are visiting the area this summer, consider purchasing a season pass which allows you to maximize savings during your visit to Branson. You can also purchase combo tickets to benefit of discounted park tickets to various Branson attractions.
Tip: There is no Pressed Penny Machines at White Water!
