Choosing the right accommodations for your family vacation can be daunting. I recently visited Branson Missouri and saw an overabundance in lodging options. How does one choose accommodations when there are so many options? One word: Research.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Welk Resort Branson with my family. One thing I love when I stay at a resort setting is the convenience. Welk Resort Branson was very family friendly with plenty of activities to keep my family entertained. In fact, had I known Welk had an children’s activity calendar I would have stayed an extra day or two and enjoyed the resort amenities a few more days.
I stayed in the hotel portion of the resort which offered 2 double beds, bathroom and sitting area/desk. Although it was a standard size hotel room, out hotel room was sutiable for our family of four. After one night, my younger sister (who visited Branson with me) mentioned how comfortable she thought the beds felt. I have to agree, the bed and shower made a huge difference during our stay. Each morning I woke up refreshed even after a busy day prior.
The furniture and wall art was upscale and very contemporary. The decor gave the room a fresh, modern feeling and went well with hotel decor in the lobby and common areas. Did you notice the towel animal? Towel animals aren’t just for cruises!
The biggest draw for many families visiting Branson would be Welk’s Splash-A-Torium. Branson’s newest water attraction features a 117 foot water slide. The indoor-outdoor water attraction is over 10,000+ square foot and open year round. It features an +100 foot indoor water slide, indoor/outdoor pool, locker rooms for your family, and a large indoor/outdoor hot tub and “Splash-Zone”.
Since we arrived in Branson first thing in the morning, we visited Ripley’s Believe It or Not! first then made our way to Welk. Hotel check-in starts at 4p.m but to maximize your time and money, Welk allows you to enjoy the Splash-A-Torium and can give you a call when your room is ready. Talk about a lifesaver! Sine we drove overnight, my family and I were exhausted! We arrived at noon, enjoyed the Splash-A-Torium for a few hours and had lunch poolside. By 1:30p.m our room was ready and we were able to enjoy a short nap before we left for another attraction.
In addition to the Splash-A-Torium, Welk Resort Branson offers hotel lodging, luxury vacation rentals, dining, activities, fitness center, mini golf, game room and live theater entertainment in Missouri. An additional outdoor pool and playground are also available to guest during their stay at Welk Resort, Branson.
Did you forget to print out attraction tickets? not to worry, guest also have the opportunity to use the computers on the first floor. The area also offers large seating area and television so your family can enjoy some family time outside of your hotel room. If you are interested, the laundry room is also on the first floor near the computer area and television area.
Stage Door Restaurant offers dining indoor, as room service or by ordering poolside. Since we arrived early, I ordered lunch poolside. I used a phone at the resort phone available at the Splash-A-Torium and placed my order. Within 15 minutes, waitstaff brought our order and we were all set! Food options are moderately priced. The menu offers several family size meals which included a large 2 topping pizza and four drinks for $25.99. This option saved my family time and money by eating at the resort versus scouting for a local quick service establishment.
In addition to having lunch and a dinner at State Door Restaurant, my family also enjoyed the breakfast buffet available to all guest for a small added charge. Adult breakfast is $8.00 and includes items: scrambled eggs, country potatoes, hash brown casserole, homemade biscuits and country gravy, fruit and yogurt, homemade sweet rolls, mini muffins, toast and bagels, prepared to order belgian waffles and more. Start your day right by purchasing a breakfast buffet!
Overall our stay was enjoyable and comfortable. The staff was friendly and accommodating and also offered concierge services if you are interested in booking an attraction or experience while in ?Branson. The resort is affordable and offers the most bang for your buck.
An additional aspect I enjoyed was zero traffic. Many hotels and resorts directly in the downtown Branson area also very traffic congested. Welk Resort in Branson is nestled in the Ozarks and virtually traffic free. The time you save avoiding traffic is additional time at the Splash-A-Torium with the kids.

There’s something about those origami towels that really brings a vacation to the next level. I love it when they’re a surprise–I wouldn’t have expected a resort in Missouri to be doing that
