Some of my favorite traveling memories are moments where we travel within our own area to explore, learn and grow. I can’t think of a better way to spend your Saturday afternoon than tailgating at LSU Baton Rouge. Being at the game is exciting but it’s the entire experience that helps create those family moments we file away in our memory box.
At LSU’s last home game, we had to opportunity to take the kids to see our LSU Tigers take on New Mexico State. My husband has been employed as an electrician by Dixieland Forest Corporation over 20 years. They were very generous by offering my husband 4 tickets to enjoy the LSU home game! How can we pass on that opportunity, right?
Have you been to a NCAA college football game? Be sure to arrive early! By arriving early you can have the full tailgating experience. Food, music, football – as my son said, “It’s paradise!”
Over the years my children have been to LSU many times. From private football stadium tours to basketball games at Pete Maravich Assembly Center and more yet there si always something new to experience at Louisiana State University. Also, by learning more about being on campus it encourages my children to always think about their own secondary education.
Not only did LSU win that night but my children were able to see hard work and dedication to a sport pay off. We don’t hear very much complaining about after school practice, but it’s always nice to know that doing what you love and getting an education is worth the effort and sacrifice the athletes on the field exhibited.
As you can see the kids had a blast. Needless to say, they feel asleep in the minivan before we left Baton Rouge. Our sleeping Tigers needed to rest after the excitement they experience at Tiger Stadium.

I would love to experience the excitement of going to one of these with my boys, wish we lived in the US sometimes.

I have been to college football games back when I was in college–nothing quite like the excitement. If it gets children to think about furthering their education after high school–then every kid should go!

My kids love going to Penn State Games with my hubby! I’m not sure if they enjoy the game more or hanging out with their dad

Back in the late 70s, my husband’s team, the CSU Fresno Bulldogs, played LSU. They won, but all he really remembers are the bugs that flew all around the lights at night.
Hope that LSU has a top winning season this year!

How fun! We haven’t gotten to an LSU game in years, but can’t wait till we can our kids down there for one! We did stop last summer on our way home from Gulf Shores so they could see campus and Mike the Tiger.
