As I have mentioned in the past, I love to collect antique china. I love looking at vintage patterns by various makers that may still be operating today. To me, each pattern tells a story about the type of person that previously owned it. Were they romantic, elegant & classic, ahead of their time, or even fun & whimsy?
Normally I tend to find some great deals at estate sales, garage sales, or even at a thrift store. Last weekend the opportunity to attend a local antique glass trade show. Since I’m a huge fan of antiques I knew I wanted to attend. Bad weather or lack of sleep (4 overnight shifts in a row) wasn’t going to keep me away!
I loved going to the event! The locations have several dozen vendors selling everything from antique rare glass to vintage jewelry! I could have done some serious damage there, but since my husband would throw a fit if I brought more glass for my curio/china cabinets, I decided to lay low on purchasing anymore this weekend.
What I became most excited about was the vintage accessories a few booths had! I love anything that pops color and one booth had tons of great items.
I managed to snag some great vintage lapel pins that had various stones and interesting jewelry designs. I also found a huge selection of bangles that would compliment any summer outfit! Since I couldn’t buy more glass or china, I still managed to fill my need for vintage and add more accessories to my overflowing fashion jewelry boxes. Now I know, a little fashion gem is only a jewelry drawer away!

Oh my gosh I love Bracelets, and vintage bracelets are even better!! I was that girl with bracelets up to her elbows!! š
What cool pics!! I love antiques too!
I love vintage necklaces. I’m always stopping at antique stores. I found a beautiful baroque pearl necklace once.
My favorite vintage items to hunt for are old records! You should see our collection!

Love the jewelry!
ah! Love this post, until recently i had a thrift store across from my work, it became my lunch break ritual to go over everyday! i used to love looking at the jewelry, too.
I have a ton of lapel pins⦠and in the āold daysā when I used to wear suits to work every day, I would make a collage of them on my lapel(s). Everyone that I wore tho had significance. I have some from members of my family that are gone, from union pins to war pins, angels to CD pins, pins from being part of a IT team to ones signifying completion of a certain level of task. People used to always ask me, what does this one mean or that one. I used to enjoy telling them too!
Although I love to shop and look at all sorts of items, I rarely buy any. My china cabinet is full of china my mother in law painted for us over the years. Sheās still painting at 80 too!
I know however if the right thing was there⦠Iād be on it in a minute!
