The northwestern part of the valley is the location of Grand Teton National Park. For skiing, the resort offers snowboarding and skiing for all ages and all levels of experience.

Alyeska, Alaska
Located in Girdwood, Alaska, the Alyeska Ski Resort is only a few miles (27 to be exact) from the larger city of Anchorage. Mount Alyeska is the largest ski area in the entire state of Alaska and is a part of the Chugach range of mountains. The beginnings of the ski tourism for Alyeska started in the 1950s. A day lodge and the first chairlift was opened in 1959. Because Alyeska is considered to be a very challenging mountain, most of the mountain’s ski areas are for intermediate and advanced skiers. There is a small novice area on the mountain but most of the runs are geared toward those with much more experience.
Vail, Colorado
Vail Ski Resort is another top destination in America. With one of the largest ski mountains in the North American continent, the Vail Ski Resort has been attracting ski tourists since its first opening season in late 1962. In fact, Vail Mountain is the third largest ski mountain, right behind Whistler Blackcomb (in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) and Big Sky (Big Sky, Montana).
Telluride, Colorado
Located in the southwestern part of Colorado, Telluride had its beginnings as a silver mining camp. Nestled in the San Juan Mountains, Telluride is connected to a sister town called Mountain Village, which sits at the base of the ski slopes.
