This is part of a sponsored campaign with DiMe Media and Coca-Cola. However, all opinions expressed are my own.
My daughter will be entering high school in a few weeks and we are so excited! But as excited as we are as a family, we are also getting very nervous. In the blink of an eye my daughter will be graduating from high school and hopefully attend college. While she has dreams of attending UCLA in California, meanwhile I’m recommending local state universities.
I feel bad but money is always on my mind.
My husband received a woodworking scholarship to a small community college, while I worked 50 hours a week and attended a local university on grants and student loans which took me almost 12 years to pay off. I definitely want my daughter to focus on school and less on survival and debt!
With the help of large companies like Coca-Cola, teens and their families can breathe a sigh of relief. Coca-Cola is a huge supporter of diversity and acceptance. They value culture, including the Latino culture, and it’s strong connection to education and hard work. Like my daughter Sarah, many teens are working hard and focusing on education so they can attend college once they graduate from high school. Sarah has a 8 year perfect attendance record and won her school’s Student of the Year Award. It was such a honor, but those achievements don’t come easily! There is a lot of sacrifice, dedication and hard work that goes into any important award.
Coca-Cola understands that like many families, Hispanic families like ours emphasize on the importance in education. They want to help provide them with the opportunity to achieve their goals and become future leaders. This year, Coca-Cola is donating $100,000 to the Hispanic Scholarship Fund!
Coca-Cola and the Hispanic Scholarship Fund are teaming up to help make a difference. Their goal is to to help raise additional money toward the Hispanic Scholarship Fund. To do that, Coca-Cola is donating $1 for every social media post with the hashtag #ForTheDream, up to $10,000. That’s a lot of dinero!

Do you have a teen in high school or college? Did money play an important role in your decision to attend college?
I just love how involved Coca Cola is in the community. This is such a great initiative, would love to support.
I don’t drink much soda…but I did switch from DP to Coke…I figure it’s better for ya!! AND it taste good. Good luck to your daughter.
Education is so important for all ages. Be it education in a school or education in life, we must be educated to make the decisions we are made to make during our lives.
Money played a big role in what college I went to. I went to a Native American college cause it was one I could afford.
We’re a Coca-Cola family. I love to hear of companies working to make a difference in the community and supporting education.
I graduated with my Bachelors of Science degree at age 61. It is never to late to pursue your dream! Education is so important to our youth as I know first hand how many more opportunities open up for you when you have a college degree (even an Associate’s degree is helpful).
if you don’t learn, then you can’t survive in the workplace!
Is this just.for Hispanic students or for all students?
My giveaway is for anyone. The CocaCola #FortheDreamSweeps educational grant sweepstakes is also anyone.
They are also donating 100k for the Hispanic Scholarship Fund which is for Hispanic students. That is totally different than the sweepstakes they are hosting or my giveaway.
Education means that you can develop your mind and improve your future!
