It’s Friday night & I just got off of of work. Although I’m so excited that the weekend is here, I’m also thinking of all the chores that need to get done. Being a busy mother means we have to fine ways that can save us time & money in my everyday life. Walgreens was my late night stop that evening. I brought my almost 13 yr old with me to pick up some of the items I needed to host a last minute get together at my house. Although I have a ton of chores this weekend, I’ll also be watching the College Basketball Tournaments on television. My family loves sports and it’s something I grew up with as well, so watching the College Basketball Tournaments is a great way to bond & encourage my little ones to get their bodies moving.
I grew up playing sports, so keeping our children active in team sports was just came natural for us. Whether we are watching a college basketball game in the living room, playing softball in the backyard on a Spring day, or sitting on the stands watching our children play on their team sports that season, we are connecting as a family and creating wonderful memories that I hope my children can continue with their own families as they grow older.
Tonight though, I’m picking up some snack items and Walgreens has everything I need. From Coke Zero to frozen meatballs, I can create some fun party foods without the long lines of a ‘big box’ store or overpriced small neighborhood grocery store. While I was there, I also made my way to the Easter Aisle to see what I can pick up for the kid’s Easter Basket’s. Like many families, time is of the essence for me. I was at my neighborhood Walgreens for about 15 minutes from entrance to check out lane. I can definitely live with that! The moments I have when I’m not working, I would much rather spend with my family versus in a grocery store getting distracted from my shopping list.
My husband made 1 request when I left for Walgreens. He is a HUGE peanut butter fan so he asked for some Reece’s Peanut Butter Cups. We knew we had to include that into our trip to Walgreens. I also picked up some frozen pizza since it’s an easy family pleaser. After our snacks were bought, my daughter asked if we could rent a movie from RedBox. Since movie rentals are $1.00, the price is right!! Besides, it’s Friday night. My party days are over with, why not enjoy a family movie with the kids after a long week tucked under my belt.
One of my favorite recent memories was taking the kids to an LSU Basketball Game. My (now) 8 year old is die hard LSU Football Fan, so taking him to Baton Rouge to get the full LSU experience was such a treat. We saw the real life “Mike the Tiger”, met LSU Cheerleaders and were given basketball trading cards for the kids. I look back on those memories and think how it also gave them a positive outlook on now just basketball but team sports in general. Being a team sports family is a lot of hard work and time consuming, but when you can incorporate ways to save time & money (like shopping at Walgreens) it makes your overall weekly chore seem like a making a game winning basketball shot!

The redboxes in Baltimore are more than a dollar. It’s like $1.29 before tax. I miss when it was just a dollar. I also love the 24 hr Walgreens, its right next to us.

Walgreens saves you time so you can spend more time with your precious family. I loved all your pictures! My family likes to buy non perishable items in bulk, so we don’t have to spend too much time shopping.

Because I never return the movies on time we’ve dumped Redbox for Amazon or Direct TV PPV, in the end it cost me the same. Love Walgreens for Easter goodies.
