Disclosure: My family & I attended the Dr.Seuss Palooza event as a media guest.

In my previous post I mentioned how excited I was to be able to board the Carnival Dream in New Orleans to attend their Dr.Seuss Palooza to celebrate the release of the new book, “What Pet Should I Get?” Given the fact that one of my beloved childhood authors hadn’t released a new book in over 25 years, I was pretty excited that I was getting a chance to cover the event and attend as a special guest. I was able to climb aboard the Carnival Dream and found myself transported to a world of whimsy and fun thanks to the Dr.Seuss at Sea program.

Along with a special guest reading of, “What Pet Should I Get?” by Angela Hill, my trip also included a special appearance by the Louisiana SPCA. The Louisiana SPCA had their furry friends along for the ride and each one was up for adoption throughout the event.

The best part, aside from getting to meet all the eager pets that were up for adoption, was the fact that Carnival Cruise Lines contributed a whopping 10,000 donation to their cause! What a great, generous organization that I was able to work with!

My next stop was the “Green Eggs and Ham” brunch. If there is specific book by Dr.Seuss that stands out most vividly from my childhood, it would be “Green Eggs and Ham.” Being able to dine with Cat and the Hat and all of his friends was truly an experience my family & I won’t soon forget. The bright colors and patterns, along with the characters themselves, helped bring the event to life around myself and fellow dinners and their families.

One of my favorite parts about the “Green Eggs and Ham” brunch was that not only did the crew dress up in bright colors that reflected the theme of the story but the food was also right on point with the story. They served Green Eggs and Ham, brightly colored fruits, huge pancake stacks, funky french toast, ‘Moose Juice’ and so much more!
