Pampering myself is not something I tend to do on a regular basis. Like most mothers, instead of going to the spa and spending big bucks on myself I tend to put my needs and wants on the back-burner. But as we are constantly told, we NEED to take care of ourselves: mind, body & soul. So I’m on a mission to do just that! I decide to invite a small group of my girlfriends over for a NIVEA Spa Party. But there’s a catch: I didn’t tell them until the last minute!!
CRAZY right? Yes & No. My plan was to get the whole part set but invite them the night before to see exactly how many would make an excuse of why they weren’t able to come. some would naturally have other plans in place, but for a fee, I knew it is instinct to shy away from Me time to focus on everyone else they loved. But guess what? The select few all said YES!
Since I’m a Sam’s Club junkie (no seriously, the staff recognizes me) I headed over to gather the items I needed for my Spa Party. I’m getting a great value by shopping at Sam’s Club, but more importantly I can focus on the items I need without getting distracted by shopping elsewhere. I was able to pick up the supplies I needed like fresh flowers for a Rose Toner for our facials to party foods we can enjoy before & after we got the royal treatment. I may be on the Bayou, but smooth skin is extremely important to me. NIVEA gives me just that without giving me a greasy finish along the away. I also love the fact that NIVEA has a clean fresh everyday scent!
Once I picked up the items I needed for my spa party, I went to my friends house who helped me make avocado body scrubs & lavender body scrubs. Buying the fresh flowers will came in handy since we needed them to create the perfect combination of floral scent with vitamin e & almond oil. When my friend told me the combination was great for getting rid of cellulite, I asked her if she can make me a Sam’s Club size bottle!! Alas, she only made about 2 1/2 cups worth of each scent. But it was exactly what we needed for our spa party.
You can’t have a spa party without getting a manicure for all the ladies.I asked each friend to bring their favorite shade of nail polish. We can test try each color and see what new color we were going to try out. Naturally I bought a few extra bottles just in case. But then my daughter informed me she had a large container of nail polish as well. Every girlfriend was able to select the perfect color to match their personality.
I also made goodie bags for each guest. From nail polish remover, body shower puffs, to their own travel size body scrubs and lotions. I wanted each guest to feel special as well as look get the royal treatment.
The rose water toner I made was a nice touch and easy enough to make. My good friend the recipe calls for witch hazel, fresh roses, and distilled water. The rosewater tightens the skin and reduces redness to our skin. You can also ad rose water toner to your bath to give yourself the complete clarifying experience. My guest ate, laughed and relaxed, which is exactly what I was going for. It’s moments like that that help us accomplish all our day to day tasks and gives us the energy to make it till Friday!
