Charleston has been on my Cities to Visit list for quite sometime. January I visited my sister who lives right outside of Charleston and had a long list of attractions and sites to visit. While I had grand plans, Charleston is definitely the kind of city you need to visit multiple times. On this trip we visited the Downtown Historic District which is steps from the Port of Charleston Cruise Terminal. You can customize a your cruise vacation by spending a few days in Charleston or Myrtle Continue Reading

Many families in the Gulf Coast area flock to Alabama's sandy white beaches every spring and summer. I recently had the privilege to experience The Beach Club, a Spectrum Resort located on the beautiful Fort Morgan Peninsula. We arrived Thursday evening after work and enjoyed 3 additional days as we embraced the sun and Continue Reading
Carnival Cruise #SunshineNOLA Spotlight
In November I had the opportunity to attend a press event for Carnival Cruise Lines in New Orleans. I enjoyed the last event I attended so I jumped at another opportunity to learn more about the new fun ship. The event was an overnight pier side cocktail to commemorate Carnival Sunshine, the largest transformation in Carnival history. The Sunshine can carry 3,002 passengers, will replace the Conquest, which could carry 2,984 passengers. The Sunshine will leave New Orleans in April and head to Continue Reading

Every year we visit The Great Smoky Mountains National Park in East Tennessee so our family is no stranger to the area. A year doesn't go by that my children don't ask to stay at the Wilderness at the Smokies Resort in Sevierville, Tennessee. This November my children got their wish as we arrived to the Smoky Mountain area for our annual Sinclair Thanksgiving in the Smokies family vacation. We had a busy itinerary this year in the Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg that we thought staying 2 nights at Continue Reading
Family Travel Fails – Travel Before and After Kids
I was a "perfect parent" before having kids and then it happens: I became a parent! When my kids were first born I did everything right. I read every book, double checked everything twice, sometimes three or four times before leaving the house. Some new moms handmake everything that went into their child's body or wore on their body. Then it dawns on you. I'm not perfect, in fact I'm not even that great of a parent! And sometimes, you even fail in parenting 101. But that's okay. I Continue Reading

Planning any vacation can be overwhelming. Tourist plan months in advance for the ideal family vacation or romantic getaway, but occasionally you may hit a snag while traveling. Weather conditions, sudden detours and other factors can create a temporary delay in your scheduled itinerary. A travel mobile app as a fantastic resource for any prospective tourist. I think of a mobile travel app similar to an interactive travel guide. Although printed travel guides are a must, a mobile travel app is Continue Reading

It's been quite on the site lately but not because I have nothing to say, but because I have been traveling. I returned from Bentonville, Arkansas a few days ago and now I'm off to Destin, Florida. It has been cold and wet in New Orleans recently so some fun in the sun is exactly what I needed. Fun is one word that can describe the location I am staying in. The Emerald Grande at Harborwalk Village in Destin, Florida is the prime location for a family or couple looking to enjoy the white sand Continue Reading
