Disclosure: I am a Feld Family Ambassador, and in exchange for my time and efforts in attending shows and reporting my opinion within this blog, as well as keeping you advised of the latest discount offers, Feld Entertainment has provided me with complimentary tickets to Feld shows and opportunities to attend private Feld pre-show events.

Monster Jam 2016 - New Orleans Mercedes-Benz Superdome Recap - New Orleans Edition #BayouTravel

One of the biggest and highly anticipated family events to come annually to New Orleans is Monster Jam®. As always, Monster Jam did not disappoint! My kids and their friends talk about Monster Jam for days BEFORE to the event and days AFTER the event has left New Orleans and riding into another city across the U.S.

For those who don’t understand the craze, Monster Jam is a live motorsport event tour and television show operated by Feld Entertainment. Like other Feld Entertainment productions, the traveling show is the largest touring monster truck property in the world and reaches fans through live in-person events prior to the performance, provides community outreach and hosts a large “Pit Party” where fans can meet the drivers, get autographs and get up close and personal with their favorite monster trucks.

The “Party in the Pits”, Pit Passes were priced at $10 and required with an event ticket for entry or fans can claim a free pass at your Southern Quality Ford Dealers. Great deal and worth stopping at a at Southern Quality Ford Dealers!

This year Monster Jam & Feld Entertainment had several New Orleans community outreach programs. Monster Jam and the New Orleans Mission combined forces to “crush homelessness” in the greater New Orleans area with a donation drive at Lakeside Shopping Center.

Also, Monster Jam® and Team Gleason hosted an event in the West Bunker Club Lounge at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to help those living with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS or “Lou Gehrig’s Disease”). Each participant at both events received a complimentary ticket to Monster Jam New Orleans. What a great way to “REV UP” the New Orleans Community!

My kids got to meet the brand new trucks: VP Racing Fuel’s Mad Scientist & Zombie Hunter plus everyone’s favorite Monster Truck, Grave Digger! The show is electrifying and non-stop. Naturally the show is LOUD so don’t forget to bring ear protection like ear plugs or ear muffs.

The kids were rooting for either Grave Digger or Monster Mutt Dalmatian. The Monster Mutt Dalmatian is driven by two female drivers, Candice Jolly and Cynthia Gauthier so it’s only natural for my teen daughter to root for them. My son just liked the puppy dog truck! :)

My kids loved the freestyle competition and of course the DOUGHNUTS competition. But both of my kids (even my husband), especially love when the trucks break down, flip over or crash into each other. Get the kids pumped for the event by making a sign at home and support your favorite driver & truck!

You can make posters, wave flags or bring a free Monster Jam Coloring Page and have your favorite driver sign it at the Pit Party. Don’t forget to download the Monster Jam Activity Packet. Your little one will be entertained and busy with 13 pages of monster-sized fun!

One more Mom Tip: Buy before you Drive! You can purchase Monster Jam licensed T-shirts at Dollar General and Walmart before the event. Buying ahead of time can save you time and money but if you forget or can’t find it locally, pick up some “merch” at the event and get the kids suited up for the big event.

If you are not in the New Orleans area, Monster Jam might be coming to a city near you! Look for Monster Jam tickets in your area and bring some energy into your next family outing.

See you in 2017 Monster Jam®!
