I’m back from my blogging vacation!
Nothing can beat spending an peaceful Christmas & New Years with those you love the most in this world. But now that we have embarked into a new year, and so have our directions in life. As usual so many of us have made resolutions (or made a resolutions of having NO resolutions). I have decided to do something that many of us already do except I’m saying it “out loud”. With an uncertain economy & our society unraveling a small thread of morality on a daily basis, I wrote something a few weeks ago prior to Christmas. It pertained to what I wanted to do with the time I have left in this world.
I want to make a difference & better my family/community. I have to start with me, my family, and my community first. I need to make sure my family, friends & neighbors are safe and then they can prosper. I don’t want to make “tons” of money in 2013. I only want my family’s needs met. My husband & I will meet those needs & do what I can to help my extended family meet their needs. If we all do this & work together within our own community & family then we can self-sustain, prosper in 2013 & our Nation will be better because of this. We need to give back to God (if you have a God) and give back to our family, community, schools, etc. We don’t need the vacations, brand name items, or even the gadgets & gizmos….we need each other in 2013. To me it’s simple: Let’s meet our needs & then share what we can to help our loved one meet theirs. The rest will fall into place.
Here’s a thought: In 2013 I want to……..? What are your needs this year? Are you scaling back due to the economic uncertainty?

I love this. You are so right. In the last few weeks I’ve been thinking similarly. About how my passions are really writing and helping others and all I want to do is provide for my family and build a safe haven for us. It doesn’t take a ton of money.
And definitely YAY to community involvement. I think we need more of it out there. Everyone needs a helping hand and most times, it’s not a money thing. Kudos to you!

I think that is a terrific way to start the new Year and the kind of attitude that needs to spread!

ESO!!! Great post, great sentiment, but BB needs to tweak it just a bit. Babushka DOES need/want TONS of money- I have TONS of people I want to help and refuses to believe this year will be another year of scarcity. I am calling in the INFINITE ABUNDANCE that is ours and looking forward to sharing the wealth. 2013- you are soooo gonna be a great year!!

This year I want to learn to organize my coupons better so I can save more money and be able to provide more for my family and our “family circle” where we donate to.

I want to have a happy family.
For us, money is not a big deal. We want to have enough to cover what we must have and to put away for college for the kids. But we enjoy staying home together more than anything. This is a great post!
