Disclosure: I will be attending a Carnival Cruise Lines 7 day press event with my family aboard Carnival Dream. All opinions and thoughts are 100% my own.
I can’t believe in less than 1 month I will be boarding Carnival Cruise Lines – Carnival Dream with my entire family. This will be my husband’s first cruise experience and I am so excited to share this with him. Carnival Dream is the largest ship in the New Orleans post which can hold 3,646 passengers and over 1000 feet in length. What an amazing way to take a first cruise!
As if the size of Carnival Dream wasn’t impressive enough, Carnival Dream is also chalk full of cruise ship entertainment and fun. Starting off with RedFrog Rum Bar and the very cool BlueIguana Tequila Bar we can quench out thirst and prepare our appetite for an amazing food journey. Carnival Dream features two dual-level dining rooms, a gourmet steakhouse including the Lido Restaurant and Ocean Plaza, which combines tasty treats with entertainment.
We are always on the go when traveling with my family. The great news is that Carnival Dream has many entertainment from water-based fun, like the heart-racing waterslide action at WaterWorks to the calming waters in the adult Thalassotherapy pool at the Cloud 9 Spa. Adult fun is just an elevator ride away! You can enjoy some adult time at the Punchliner Comedy Club, enjoy the casino, nightclub, piano bar, and art gallery. Don’t worry about the kids! Carnival has them taken care of. Entertainment like dive-in movies, the Carnival Seaside Theatre, video arcades, stage shows and more.
Did you know Carnival has unveiled Camp Ocean, which will replace the line’s existing Camp Carnival program. Camp Ocean has experienced staff and a welcoming atmosphere that our children will enjoy. Three age-related categories will each have their own identity: children ages 2-5 will be dubbed “Penguins,” with those ages 6-8 called “Sting Rays” while 9-11 year olds will be “Sharks.” Camp Ocean will be introduced on Carnival Magic, Carnival Breeze and Carnival Triumph later this year with the balance of the fleet implemented by 2016, including Carnival Vista which is set to debut in early 2016.
My son is very excited about checking out Camp Ocean this summer! Carnival will also introduce a Badge Challenge as part of Camp Ocean. Carnival states “The badge challenge will provide the opportunity for kids to earn and collect badges as a special memento of their cruise. Badge challenges include a variety of unique activities that provide an original way for kids to learn about their vessel, experience onboard adventures and gain a sense of accomplishment. After completing tasks which may include trying a new food, making an aquatic towel animal or riding the water slide, children will collect corresponding Camp Ocean badges.” Your kids will not only enjoy the time they spend at Camp Oceans but they will be learning about the ship and trying new things while on vacation. I Love this idea!
We are counting the days until our Carnival Dream experience. Thinking about booking a Carnival Cruise? Don’t worry! Next week I will share more information on Carnival Cruise Lines – Carnival Dream, our destination, and more regarding accommodations.

My family would love that ship! Seriously, those water slides look like so much fun! Now you have me missing the cruise life.
I would so love to take my son on a cruise… he would just love this one!
I want to go on a cruise so badly! The Carnival Dream sounds amazing!
We went on a cruise once, but think it was an older ship, nothing like this! It was so much fun though, but I imagine on a ship like this would be amazing!
Sadly. I have never been on a cruise. I have a dream of going on a cruise to Alaska. That would totally be awesome! Have fun!
I have never been on a cruise. I didn’t realize there is SO much on these ships.
I’ve cruised with Carnival and had the best experience with them. They have great customer service. Have fun on your trip!
I’ve never been on a cruise and totally want to!! My husband is scared to go with me so I’ll have to find a girlfriend to be my sidekick.
Interesting!
I have never been on a cruise ship and doubt I ever will. It sounds like lots of fun. The Titanic which I saw when I was young did me in for life!
Taking a family cruise is on my bucket list so thank you for the tips!
I’ve never been on a cruise before, but it really sounds like you will be having an awesome time. I may have to do some serious talking to hubby about putting a cruise on our list of “to dos”
Wow! This sounds like an amazing trip! My husband has been wanting to take a cruise, but we’re waiting until my youngest (8 months) gets a bit older. I’m glad to hear that they’re improving the camp program – I think my older girls would love that!
holy moly! This is a nice cruise line! I can’t believe there’s a slide in it like that! Amazing!
This sounds amazing for the whole family. I hope you have an awesome time. I have never been on a cruise and if I ever get to go, I hope it is like this one. Thanks for sharing.
