This is part of a sponsored campaign with Being Latino and Red Lobster. However, all opinions expressed are my own.
Between work, school and evening activities my family has to reconnect over dinner. Unfortunately dinnertime at home seems to be a challenge as well. time is our biggest obstacle and greatest asset. Whenever we can my family enjoys going out to eat versus an at home dinner. Why? Because we can eat in peace without the worry of cooking, cleaning and naturally meal planning. Since my family enjoys seafood we love to stop at Red Lobster whenever possible. What can make Reb Lobster even more appealing? LOBSTERFEST!
Red Lobster’s Lobersterfest is back and better than ever with nine new and classic lobster dinner options. As if we needed another reason to love lobster! In addition to the fantastic variety
Red Lobster offers, you can also find great weekday offers throughout the celebration. In addition to beloved guest favorites like Lobster Lover’s Dream® and the Ultimate Feast®, there are three new entrees to try. I know it will be a hard to decide on one single meal so be sure to get something your family member isn’t trying on today’s visit. Sharing is caring!
Dueling Lobster Tails: A roasted Maine lobster tail topped with tender shrimp in a creamy garlic sauce paired with a golden-baked Maine lobster tail with crab-and-seafood stuffing. Served over mashed potatoes, roasted tomatoes and green beans.
Lobster in Paradise: A split Maine lobster tail fried in our signature coconut batter, spicy grilled shrimp and a lobster-and-shrimp bake topped with toasted crushed macadamia nuts.
Ultimate Surf and Turf: A Maine lobster tail baked with crab-and-seafood stuffing paired with a peppercorn-seasoned grilled sirloin topped with Maine lobster meat in a citrus-hollandaise sauce. Served over mashed potatoes, roasted tomatoes and green beans.
I have not narrowed down my favorite quite yet. I think I need to try a few more dishes before I claim my personal favorite but I know my family will enjoy our new quest at Red Lobster. My children love to eat out but I remember the days when eating out was more of a chore for the entire family. Have I learned my lesson over the years? Yes, here is why.
Here are a few tips to use when planning a family dining experience outside the home.
1. Plan your family dining experience around their meal schedule
Regardless of the time, make sue they will be ready to eat when the meal arrives. Include additional time for for preparations.
2. Order an appetizer
I always consider cost but ordering an appetizer or taking advantage of complimentary chips, biscuits, bread can be quite useful for small children with the munchies. You can use a coupon to help defray the cost. Visit websites for printable coupons as well.
3. Kid’s Night
Many restaurants offer kid’s night with special discounts for kid’s meals. You can call ahead and look for local websites to see if a restaurant offers children activities as well.
4. Choose a family restaurants
I always chose a restaurant that was family friendly. Staff members are prepared to assist with any needs that a specific child may have and quick to address the needs as swiftly as possible.
5. Don’t worry about the mess
Your child will spill, drop and maybe even squirm. It is okay! Your child is not the first child to step foot in the restaurant.
6. Don’t forget the toy
Be sure to bring something to keep your child occupied. Toys, Ipad, even their favorite e-reader can help assist making your family sinner more enjoyable.
Use any of the above tips to help create a dinner out with the family more enjoyable. Above anything else, enjoy each others company.
Do you have any tips that can easy planning a family dining out more enjoyable?

We eat out A LOT and my kids are great in restaurants. When they were little, I always had a restaurant bag with small toys, coloring books and snacks like Goldfish. Now that they are a little older, they just bring their DS’s or Kindles.

We eat out a lot at my house and Red Lobster is one of the places that we go to along with Applebees and Olive Garden. They are all kid friendly and the kids enjoy eating out. Yes the price is expensive with a family of 6 but it’s worth it to me to have some family time.

I do eat at Red Lobster a lot and that Surf & Turf is calling my name at the moment–Sounds like a great lunch for Saturday when I am out with my Mom. By the way their lunch specials are economically priced and smaller then the dinner menu–perfect size for lunch!

Those are great tips! I LOVE Red Lobster, sadly we moved where we don’t have one near us at all. It’s a 3 hr drive to the nearest one. I miss it. I want to go out so badly.

I think number 6 is a great tip because I always have to take a toy for the kiddos to keep them entertained. My husband and I visited our local Red Lobster on Monday, and our food was so delicious. Not to mention, the wait staff was very friendly and efficient.

Dining with small kids can be rough. We used to make up table games to play while we waited for our food. Things like I spy, or use the straw to blow paper across the table, ect.

We love to eat out as a family, we always have. I always brought special “just for restaurants” toys when they were toddlers to keep them entertained. Now we have to tell them to put their books down when the food comes!

I find when I take kids out, it is best to prepare them first. I sit them down, we discuss how to behave at a restaurant and then go. They usually end up sitting pretty nicely.

One of the reasons I don’t really like taking my son out to eat is because he is a really messy eater (he gets that from me lol). He is also very impatient when he is hungry (also gets that from me). I will have to search for some more kid friendly places. The USA has the best place!! Wish Montreal would get with the program already and get a Red Lobster!!!
