Historic Natchitoches is one of the original cities to start the Holiday Trail of Lights and this year marks the city’s 87th annual Christmas Festival. Thousands of twinkling lights will be turned on daily at dusk, from November 23 through January 6. During this amazing 7-week celebration, Natchitoches will offer many events to entice visitors and show them all a fantastic time.

Did you know it snows each year in Natchitoches? Well, it does, and the city calls it Snow Fest. The event runs Nov. 30, Dec. 13-14, and Dec. 20-21. The whole family can enjoy a day with Frosty’s Avalanche Slide, live entertainment and more on the downtown riverbank. Admission will be charged. Times and admission fee have not yet been announced.
Enjoy a Creole Christmas at the Christmas Downriver event at Oakland Plantation with special tours, educational programs and musical events. Visit Magnolia Plantation Complex, 5549 Hwy 119,
Derry from 1-2:30p.m, Dec. 14-21. Admission is free.
