If you’re like me, your “spare” time is divided by your family & your home. Over the years my husband & I have been a part of many organizations. Fundraising is something we do out of necessity. But after several years of fundraising it can get tiresome and difficult to plan. Several years ago my son’s football league came up with a unique way to drive revenue to the league while creating an event for locals to enjoy and participate in.
What transpired was a Antique Car Show & this year I decided to document and share their fundraising idea with others. I’m not sure what draws people to a local car show, perhaps it is the memories of simpler times but either way, they had a great turn out at the event.
We live in a small town and this year the event drew in about 32 cars. The event also had food and other activities for the kids. But what we really enjoyed was mingling with the car owners and seeing how special the car/owner relationship was. The stores we heard of their restoration journey was very impressive.
These cars meant something to each owner and it was evident on how they spoke about their car and the upkeep involved with owning a beauty like these pictured. Wouldn’t you love to have this beauty??

What kind of unique fundraisers does your local club, religious, or civic organization perform yearly? What idea has been the most successful?

That IS a unique idea! Looks like your son was happy to go with you!
such awesome classic cars! THis would b such a fun fundraiser idea for so many schools and clubs
That’s so neat! There’s a car show in Gatlinburg that we drive through often. For fundraisers, our most successful one is when people just donate money. I think a lot of people are so busy they’d rather just give cash instead of time.
What a great way to fund-raise and the cars are Awesome! Your son look so happy and I know this will be an fundraising experience he will never forget! Great idea :0)
This is definitely a unique fund-raising idea. My church does throw in something similar but an inclusion to our Fall Festival along with a Cake walk and bouncy castles
What a great idea!
my husband LOVES car shows (and so does my son) so you need to email me and tell me where this annual show happens!
