Those who enjoy stock car racing or any other type of racing can literally go from one end of the country to the other to enjoy their hobby. While some cities are not as well known for their stock car races, they are still worth the visit. No matter how popular or unpopular a venue is, there is nothing like the overwhelming scream of engines at full bore.
Indy
Indianapolis is probably the most well known place for stock car events. However, they also offer all types of race events aside from stock car. The Indy 500, Brickyard, and Grand Prix can all be enjoyed from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Since this is located in the midwest, it may or may not be the place that die hard stock car fans want to start their race travel. It’s still a must on the list though.
Dallas/Fort Worth
The Texas Motor Speedway is host to some of the major events of the stock car world. Aside from serial players, TMS also has various other events that are not on the professional level. If you love stock car racing and you need a reason to visit Texas, the Texas Motor Speedway has just what you are looking for. If you are concerned because you prefer to watch the pros, just remember that they had to start somewhere too. These guys are awesome!
Las Vegas
What goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas. That doesn’t mean you can’t brag a bit about watching stock car races at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. These races are not as crowded as they would be in Indy, for instance. On the other hand, the weather allows for year round racing. That means there really is no off season here. Visiting the Las Vegas Motor Speedway is just one of the many things you can do in Sin City.
Los Angeles
Like Las Vegas, racing goes on all year round in Los Angeles because the weather permits it. Here is one place where racing isn’t confined to the tracks. The Irwindale half mile track is a great place to watch some organized racing. Just remember that drag racing was born in Los Angeles and the streets still bring it home. In fact, the streets of Long Beach offer a style of racing that you might not be able to see anywhere else in the United States.
If you are a die hard stock car fan who wants to travel, keep an open mind. Some of the less popular tracks have some of the best events. Places like Charlotte might not be as exciting as places like Indy. However, they are also less crowded and offer multiple styles of racing. Every professional had to start small. For all you know you may be watching the next professional stock car racer on his or her last race as a hobbyist.
Do you know a die hard Nascar or stock car fan? Would you travel to the raceway for your favorite driver?

We aren’t huge fans but we would drive to a raceway to get out of the house and for an adventure. My family loves a good adventure/roadtrip!

For sure, we made a trip to AZ once, just to see NASCAR. Now I’m getting the itch to go again, I might have to look into a trip to one of these places.

We have lots of friends who love NASCAR. I went to a race once in Daytona where my company had sponsored a car. It was lots of fun, but also a little scary to be on the track!

I would gladly go ANYWHERE to get out of the house. But I am plugging away trying to save money and get out of debt. Someday, though, I will get to take an awesome vacation. Thanks for the post!
